carwash

Okay, super embarrassing question, hope it doesn't come across as post-whoring! But...

Is it okay to take an AW11 through pretty much any carwash? I'm just worried about some of that rainbow waxy stuff they have spray on getting down those vents and possibly doing something nasty. Is it all good, and if so, is it perhaps a good idea to turn off the engine?

Are you currently having water restrictions in your state? In Melb we're back to stage 1 so I would just wash car at home. Plus using those carwash brushes might be abrasive and people might misuse on their dirty dirty rims :/
If you're talking about laser wash then the only good thing about it is it cleans the underbody (not sure how effective) but with a bit of effort you could jack up the car and degrease + hose it off?

Actually, I think I've got a water leak somewhere, and I figured the quickest and easiest way of finding where it is (when it's not always raining) would be to just go in the carwash, as well as kill two birds with one stone (clean car). :)

I'm all for washing the car at home too! Last time I checked, a pressure washer was available for under 100 bucks. Add a bucket , car wash and a chamois and your good too go. I've had bad luck in the past with automatic car washes (soap not being rinsed properly, staining my paint ) and the ones where you can do it your self seem to chew your money like it's no tomorrow.
