Need stock MR2 GT 1992 Blow off valve to get Roadworthy certificate
Hi Guys I am new to the forum, I have also just purchased an MR2, I got really lucky and found a rare hard top turbo one on carsales.com with 150000km for $8800. The thing is I have to get a road worthy certificate so i can transfer it back into my name. It currently has a custom turbo exhaust, twin stainless steel 3" system and is so LOUD! and this will deffinitly not pass the test. I also has turbo smart blow off valve which is vent to atmosphere. Would anyone be kind enough to please lend me a stock bov and a stock 1992 mr2 gt exhaust system, just so I can get the road worthy stuff done?

TRD2000 does it really need to be factory? just plumbing it back in wont do? Well I am not too sure. I am on ebay looking at plum back bovs and found one for $40. But it has a bit of silver piping on it. Just wondering if that will pass.

the cheapest/easiest thing to do to pass RWC is to fit a block off plate. ie: a nicely shaped piece of metal that covers the hole and ses the factory bolt hole to keep it in place, use a little bit of automotive silicon on the mounting face so it seals. it will be fine for temporary purposes.

Why don't you source a factory bov, then you wont have to worry about getting a defect notice. That is unless of course you like the noise. What state are you in? It seems that the SA mob has the most trouble with some sinister group called 'regency'...

Hi Dudeman, I have been looking for a factory Bov and have founf a total of 2 on ebay, one sold just as I found it and the other one is owned by a guy in the us who will not ship to Australia. I don't suppose I could borrow/ buy one from anyone here? I am in the ACT.

Good news guys, I found a stock blow off valve on ebay for $88. I will probably need it for later on as well. Now I just got the exhaust to take care of :-)

Damn, if you'd mentioned you were in the ACT I crashed my 2 a couple months back and am working on fixing it and I could have lent you the quiet exhaust I had to get built to pass roadworthy and my blow off valve. I live northside so it would have been easy. Glad you got it sorted though
