AW11 roof panel - replaceable or permanent?

G'day all,

I'm restoring a hail damaged 1989 AW11, sunroof version. While I know most of the other panels can be sourced - and having so far not found what I'm chasing in the manual - I'm wondering if the roof panel itself is one that can be replaced like most others, or is a permanent fixture to the car (and most likely structurally integral, yeah)? If it's replaceable, then I'll keep my eyes peeled, if not, I guess I'll send it to a hail damage repair place, and they can take apart the trim and un-dent it from the inside.

Cheers

My roof was badly damaged when the bonnet flipped up at 170km/h. Even then, it was still repairable. Actually feels stronger now than it used to be from factory.

I'm sure the roof skin can be cut off or unpicked if you really wanted to but for hail damage I would opt for repair rather than replace.

Cheers for that. So you'd have to cut away - it won't come off like other panels (ie. it's permanent and structurally essential)? Yeah, it's pretty golf-balled, but think I'l go for the repair option.
