So bought this, it was in a pretty average state.
Mechanically, it ran very poor and wouldnt last long before going into a limp mode. Basically would hardly boost - could hear turbo spooling but you went no where.

Driving it - well it was scary the whole back end felt loose. It was running about 4 degrees camber and the tyres that were on the wheels were worn down to the belts.

Oil and Filter change was first done, then checking the error code that turned out to be a faulty knock sensor. Boosting issue turned out to be a joiner that wasnt fully connected.

Finally was running how an MR2 should

(Pics taken the evening I bought it)

Body was pretty straight,  bumper had scuff marks with broken foglights and had a black fender.

The wheels that were on it were some SSR Type C RS. Great wheels, but all wrong for the car. They were basically GTR offset 17x9 +22 all round.

So onto getthing this driving somewhat decent.

Installed the brake pads that were in the boot with the purchase

There was excessive play in all wheels, quite a fair bit of ball joint play in the rear left  wheel more then others. Put it down to age, the oversized wheels and excessive camber.

    Ordered:
    Ball Joints (Front and Rear)
    Tie Rod Ends
Steering Rack Ends (and all new boots to go with)

Also managed to sell the SSR wheels that came with the car for a nice bonus.

Not selling her so soon. :)

All the above arrived quickly and was installed. Began working on the body, trying to get it at least decent. A full (professional) respray is on the cards for this one in the existing colour, but had to just tidy it up a bit)

Colour matched fender, closest I could get. As its been resprayed previously the colour was a little hard to get spot on.

Parked next to my G Limited. Also repainted a bit of the bumper where it was cracking and tested the white RP01's I had sitting in the shed.

Took the wheels off my daily and wacked them on.

So now was sporting a massive lift kit and a nice set of chromies.

Work Meister S1 (17x8 18x9) - I am aware sizing isnt everyones thing, I am not sure I even like it still...

A week after I changed the wheels, this (http://i45.tinypic.com/smu04m.jpg) happened. I decided to swap over coilovers, sound system and some nicer interior panels.

Before I could install anything, the driveshaft CV snapped. Apparently caused my last owner and a make shift repair on hub. Vibrations caused this (the weakest point) to snap off. Thankfully I was able to get it home.

Luckily a second hand hub was easily sourced at WTF Auto, and all was back together within a day.

Coilovers were next in, which is just about it, I had planned to upgrade them, but as I am not sure what is happening with my other MR2 I couldnt let them go to waste.

    Random Engine bay shot:

Unfortunately once buffed, fender appears to be a different (lighter) shade.

Desperately need to get guards/fenders rolled and a wheel alignment . Unfortunately for the latter, I cant get the gauges on the rear of car so I have to put the 17s on and wheel align with that...

Next will be installing Rev3 Lights and Front Lip - then getting windows retinted.

Sometimes it appears that seeking perfection in an MR2 is the 'Holy Grail'

Hmm, now is the dye that my intercooler installer told me that he found all over the newly installed brand new $1200 air conditioner compressor air conditioner dye, or just the same colour used in coolant fluid that just happened to appear over that newly installed a/c compressor like the air con man told me today???

Got them put in last night - apparently leather evens out after a while in the sun. Got a bit of a track day tomorrow so car will be in sun for most of day so will see how it goes.

Hi there, sorry I missed your post.

All up landed the seat covers came to just under $300. Was around $280AUD (afterp paypal crappy conversion rates)
I then paid to get them installed professionally (apparently you can DIY if you have the skill/patience)

Out with the old in with the ....older.

Replaced my grey diry grey headlining froom an early model hard top in black.

Was luckily enough to now have a wreck sitting in the shed which the sunvisors and map lights could be swapped with.

Also couple of updated pictures of seats - after they have had time to sit in the car. Very happy with way its come out - definately plan on getting armrest and dash upholstered in coming months.

Also purchased replacement leather covers for storage bins - these have been installed (DIY) as well as a matching gear and hand brake gaiters.

and random pic of car taken on bit of a track day last weekend.

*by far was the most fun I have ever had trying to drive in a straight line - no matter how gentle with the happy pedal - little khana circuit insisted on making me face the way I was came from
