Smashed front :(

Wet road, sh!t tyres ,over steer and a power pole.
Fortunately my car still drives, I haven't thoroughly checked the damage but I know all front panels need replacing.

I'm so devastated.
pics, rekn its repairable? I think its been in an accident before bonnet is red and passenger fender is also red.

    Hi
It's sad that you had a mishap. Metal and plastic can always be repaired but sometimes we as human can not.
Hopefully you did not hurt yourself and I hope the damage is minor so it does not cost too much to fix.
    Good luck with your endeavours.

Doh! yes that car has been in an accident before (before the owner you bought it from)

Looks repairable. main problem is rail damage and the front cut of the car (everyone bins MR2's in the front so the radiator support panel etc is hard to find)

If it's repairable I guess that's good news.

Any damage to the front left shock tower? Has the suspension upright moved, or is the wheel out of alignment? the FL guard panel looks to be pushed back a bit over the passenger door leading edge, I'd check thoroughly under the bonnet to make sure there's no buckles/cracks around the shock towers, or any firewall or floor damage - that will determine whether it's even worth getting repaired. If it was in NSW it would probably be considered a statutory write-off due to the cost of repairs I'd say (As most older cars are, sadly). You guys still have repairable write-off laws in Vic though don't you?

Mind if I ask what the speed of impact was? It looks like it was fairly low speed for a pole impact.

Faaarr out it's too painful to look at especially when you haven't removed the sig :(
I've heard of cars being repaired even with that amount of damage but you just gotta weigh out the pros and cons I suppose for yourself

esskay - Not too sure about impact speed, I lost traction at around 40km/h at the bend. I over corrected and the utility pole came to greet me when the car swung around.
And the Fl guard panel near the door, it was already like that when I first got the car.
The suspension, doesn't seem like there's any damage , well none that I can see yet.

Tree - I haven't weighed them yet, have to do that soon.

essdub - That was something I was considering but I hope it doesn't come to that.

Judging by the pictures. I think your best bet is call it quits with that shell and transfer everything over.

My damage (http://www.mr2australia.c..r2play/fb.ashx?m=77528) is would be classed as a write off and is no where near as substantial as yours.

Is the car in your sig the same one above?

No need to take it off.

What are the specs of your car P am assuming its an import (toblerone indicators)?

    NA / Turbo ?
    Rev2 / 3?

Anything can be fixed with the right sum of money, sometimes its just not feasible to do it.
I think in the case of your car I think that is the issue.

All my car requires is a bonnet, fender, bumper and headlight assembly. Nothing structural and yet they would deem it a financial loss.

    rev 3 turbo import.

I was hoping something like this could be done to it (link). But yeh unsure of the money needed to make it happen though.

That sucks. It definitely looks possible to repair, but I don't think it'd be worth doing so financially. Bit more work than just bolting on a few panels, so you'd probably need a pro to do a bit of work. When the cars themselves aren't worth too much, they get written off easily.
