Update I should have the car back in about a week or so - been a long road getting delivery from the US, and getting the work done and dramas sorted. I wanted an oil cooler, which has taken the space where the old w2a was, so now I've got a new garrett 1000hp w2a unit directly between turbo and throttle - pricey but should be super responsive. Will get a heap of pics up once I have the car back. Also a few items for sale!

"I should have the car back in about a week or so" ^famous last words! Latest is, they got the turbo back on, had some coolant leaks to sort out (involving dropping out the fuel tank) etc etc. Finally got it on the dyno, and it was boosting too readily and uncontrollably. It seems the small compressor wheel, in lightweight billet, combined with the 3S-GTEs high exhaust velocity, and the responsive smaller A/R exhaust housing is all TOO much responsiveness. So they guys have swapped out the turbine housing from the .64 A/R to the more free flowing .84 A/R, which should keep things a bit more manageable low down (and possibly increase the top end capacity). Here's hoping. Anyway, some pics of the oil cooler and revised intercooler setup.

Haha, it's not as bad as it looks Pat, there's shielding going on between turbo and IC, constant fan at the track, and the rain tray is all opened up to vent the heat out. So I'm hoping not too much heat from the turbo finds its way into the intake charge, or the recirculating IC water. Waiting to see how the revised housing goes before I get onto ATS. There were some nasty scores on the face of the adapter plate too that had to be machined, so it's been a bit of a PITA from the start.

You should make a shield that goes between them and put gold tape on it to reflect the heat. The intercooler needs to be as cold as possible

No worries Pat, wasn't stressing about the comment. Admin is definitely right, and as I haven't seen it in person yet I'm definitely hoping the shielding is there!

LOL, kinda difficult to stomach what you know your engine is going to go through/risk. But you'll come out the other side smiling I'm sure.

Latest word is that the new turbine housing is good, car's running well with 18psi from mid 3k's, the tvis is faulty so they're going to whack a new solenoid in for that, and just fine tune the ignition timing a little more and the maps around the tvis switch point, but should be sweet to get the car next week in time for EC Brabham Circuit on Sunday 20th. Can't wait!

I did not realize you are still running the TVIS . I know it was not used on the Gen 3 engine, so yours must be the Gen 2 engine. Thinking back I wonder now if the bad flutter you had previously was caused by the TVIS.? Is there still an advantage having the TVIS considering the Gen 3 stopped using it. I am Looking forward to hearing news of a good result.
