Aghh...Running very very rich/bad. HELP PLS

Hi Guys, need some ideas please, im puzzled with my latest issue thats got worse and worse. Basically it started running rich from about 2000rpm to 3000rpm. The car would hold back and splatter and above those revs would pull as per normal. But the more i drove the car the worse it got..
Now, it idles rough, and runs very bad. But as soon as i boost above 10 psi car becomes alive again and pulls as per normal.
Mate came over who is very familiar with supras and he looked over it but his best guess was afm. I opened up the afm and did a bit of soldering just to make sure its all good and as far as i can tell it is but of course im not 100%.

So far ive checked:
spark plugs
cooler piping
vacum lines
intake piping
afm not 100% is there a way to test?
ecu swapped over ecus, blitz to stock, no luck

i need ideas, just has been parked for 8 days and ive run out of ideas. He is coming around to do compression test just to make sure its not the engine, but apart from that, im out of ideas? :S

Any ideas on where to look ?? Help appreciated

how did you 'open' the AFM? if you removed the two screws on the plug you've b0rked it. been there done that (even the soldering to no avail).

Sure did (well my mate did in fact)... So soldering doesn't fix that problem as ive soldered back to what i think should look like? How did your one run with a "soldered" afm? Similar to mine?
Is there any way of testing the afm?

Say goodbye to that AFM then.
never ever open the afm from the screws where the loom plugs in. in fact an AFM should never be tampered with if you dont know what your doing.
if your mate did that then i dont know what kind of supra specialist he is
heres a guy selling a couple of afms

good luck with it and hope the new afm fixes the problem.

    cheers

Oh well, guess we fluffed it lol.
My mate is pretty handy when it comes to cars, hes built his car ground up (470KW) and has assisted me many times with my car. Everyone makes mistakes i guess. oh well lol ill get a new one. Pretty silly design tho because i probably would have done the same, those screws are so inviting. lol

Mate I b0rked an AFM on my camry years ago...I was young and bought some crap on ebay to modify the temp sensor...took it to my mate to fix it with a soldering iron and put it back in and the car didnt idle, ran rough and blew tons of grey smoke, was basically undrivable. Got one from the wreckers, plugged it in and ran great.

You can test it according to the BGB but it will need to be replaced so i wouldnt bother.
