Toyota Starlet EP91 TD04 turbo - **ON EBAY NO RESERVE**
Shane says: Hey guys, Have had this beast for about a year. And its been sitting in the garage since, unregistered. History of the is an old friend used it as his daily, until it started idling strange. It sat in his gragae for a year until I took the "problem" off his hands, and fixed it. All it was, was the Greddy Emanage was faulty, and the Timing belt was not put on correctly. Fixed the timing belt, and bought a new ECU, and she is back to its glory. It also won the Street Sleeper award at the 2011 Toyfest. Its a great fun car, that also good on fuel, but I already have 3 cars, and a 4th for 2 people is just over kill. Features: Engine: 4EFTE from Starlet GT TD04 Custom Exhaust Manifold Custom Plenum Exhaust Front Mount Greddy E-Manage 134fwkw Driveline: TRD LSD Heavy Duty Clutch Suspension Full Whiteline Handling kit (Shocks sway bars and king springs) Interior Toyota MRS Front Seats Blitz Boost Controller Blitz Turbo Timer Exterior Stock Glanza V Wing Wheels Choice of 5 Stud Hubcaps lol or Enkei Barrels 15 x 8 +30 up front and 15 x 8 +20 rear with 195/50 rubber all round Car has been Blue Slipped, but waiting for a buyer before we rego it, so you will have 12 months rego. Car is also Engineered. $5500 OR $6700 with the Enkei Wheels. How it looked the day I picked it up: How she sits now

Same thoughts as me :-) I think it would. Just keep the ecu out of sight and it should pass. If its been engineered then the chassis and engine numbers should match and pass straight through. Couldn't hurt to put stock springs back in too.

Engineering would only be valid in NSW though, wouldn't it?

Yes but as part of a swap being engineered, doesn't the new engine number get recorded on whatever the database is that Regency uses to confirm the vehicle ID?

So I guess what I'm saying is that it might get through. If the inspector just records the VIN/Engine numbers, does the basic safety check and then moves off into the office to cross check those numbers I think it'll be fine. But if they stop and think.... "hey this motor isn't meant to be in here". Then it's off to get your own local engineering certs.
