MR2 GT (turbo) 1990 110k NSW Open to offers

Hi Guys
Put this one almost 2 month ago on carsales and still haven't any respond/offer WTF???
http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/toyota-mr2-1990-12528120?base=1216&vertical=Car&cr=14&eapi=2&__N=1246 1247 1252 1282 4294962861 4294962177 898 1216&silo=Stock&Range=Price:7500,10000~0.5&sort=default
Car is in original cond. I replaced clutch, disk rotors and pads, speedo sub assembly, fixed some electric things like mirrors and power windows. Aircon is great, engine is in top nick. newer played with boost. good tyres and battery.  Momo 320mm  steering wheel leather gear knob. chrome rings on dials, black matt wrap, crystal clear front and side blinkers, Kouki tail light conversion......
Stereo is not perfect as I never need it, however  it plays mp3.
Done this all  for myself to make this car special. Unfortunately I must sell it now. I would like to keep it to but I need $$$ for  our bloody mortgage.
$7900 and open to offers.
PM me if interested. I'm near Seven Hills.
Cheers!

I recon it is true for camry/corolla but things  are very different to mr2, supra, celica gt4, they are iconic examples of 90s
MR2 is not a mainstream car. I spent 5 month to find the right mr2 gt.

    I am looking.
    Points...
The matt cover/paint looks crap.(might be the go for young guys but none have money or can get loans at the moment..I am cash..and old)..
It is over 20 years old.
    It has 2 seats.(limited market..)
The market has many similiar cars available at very competitive prices, most are willing to dump to get at least some money back.
Just some things to consider...hence...no one has called you.
    Regards

    Hmm.
Matt cover looks crap on every car or on this one particularly? If so It is quite a challenging statement without seeing this car.
    2 seater and limited space.
Have you seen the boot of 350 / 370Z? MR2s boot is not that small as it looks.
You are right. The market has lots of newer cars for better price, However please name  me any of them with middle engine layout? NSX? Lotus? What else..ferrari.. lambo?
Can you buy any of them for $7900 - $7500

My opinion the reason is the current financial situation in Au. Lots of people at the threat of loosing  them job soon. This is time for buying if you get $$$ not for selling. Plus FT86 / BRZ are just about to set more affordable prices for the sport cars market. and this is quite worrying for old Supras Skylines WRX sellers.
However there are still some people hunting for the 80s-90s classic. I had an idea to pull of the vynil to make the car 100% original  but  I simply cannot  ruin the job I spent 4 days to

IMO - the vinyl needs to be pulled off. People are not going to want to purchase a car that's had it's paintwork covered up, in fear of what may lie underneath and the money it costs to get a respray if indeed the paintwork is ****.
If it's genuine low kms and the engine/suspension are in good order then you may get what your looking for.

The bonnet has a bad paintwork. That is why I came across  with vynil job. Started with the bonnet I really liked the outcome. i do not have an idea to get rid of the car and if there is no reasonable  offer I will keep the car with me..... covered with stealth matt black.
    and thanks for the advices.

Vynil costs around $350-400 I bought porous one which is easier to apply on the surface and get rid of bubbles. It was 1.5m by 12m sheet.
Yes I did it myself. Better to start with easiest things like bonnet, lid and roof. Bumpers are most difficult parts  especially rear one.
Nothing difficult. Passion and accuracy makes good job.
I hope I still have a link to ebay vynil seller  he is a good guy and he can cut the sheet if you need it. PM me if interested.

Goodluck with the sale. Selling cars is a hit & miss. Sometimes takes a day, other times a year.

Not to be an a$$, but personally if I were looking (already have an MR2 of course), the bit that'd probably put me off yours is the silver/chrome strips. That's just me to be honest. Truthfully, I think if you had those bits matching & advertised the car on other forums like jdmst etc with some more flashy photos, you may get a bite.

Thanks for the advice. Chrome strips might be too flashy. Modern cars getting more and more chrome parts.  However MR2 is from other era.
