History: A friend and I bought the car with the intent of doing targa’s etc in it, never eventuated. Have owned the car for about 5 years, in this time it has done 2 track days and 1 hill sprint. It has probably travelled about 500ks and has had two oil and spark plug changes (so it was fresh for the 2 track days). Never crashed or broken down during this time. Was bought as is except for the tires and rear wing.
Modifications: Sports air filter, pretty much brand new ToyoR888’s (1 hill sprint old, about 5mins of driving), full welded in roll cage, Sparco Pro 2000 seat, 5 point harness, fire extinguisher, carbon rear wing, sports exhaust (insanely loud), bonnet clips/pins, some sort of nice suspension (extremely stiff!!) will get the name if I can see it. Stripped out interior. As far as I know the rest of the car is standard.
Overall condition: IMO, Good. Paint looks pretty good, not very faded (never been sitting in the sun during my owner ship), It is missing a side reflector, the rear brake light (below the roof) is broken, came this way. Scratch on the driver’s side rear ¾ panel, also came this way. It has power windows, power side rear vision mirrors, central locking.
Other Info: I have a spare engine for it that will go with the car, but don’t have details on that (K’s condition etc), not for sale separately as of yet. If you wish to do cams events you will need a new harness as the current one is out of date.
Price: At this stage just getting expressions of interest with swap for a road going SW20 (hard top preferred). Or if a swap cannot be found it will be for sale separately. I will advise of price soon.
My little run around charade just died a heroic death and I need a new run around car. I have this race car sitting in my parent’s car port (which they are thrilled about) and it never gets any use. I like the idea of a MR2 road car and thought I’d test the waters for a swap. This deal would suit someone who has a road going SW20 and is looking to convert it to a dedicated track car, they can swap it for mine and save the cost of getting suspension, tires and roll cage. The tires on this car are new (5 mins use) and cost about $1600, at a guess a full welded in cage must be about $2500, sparco race seats ain't cheap and the spare engine is a little sweetener. Could be a good deal for the right person.
