hey midnight cruiser, i drive a VS statesman v6 supercharged as a daily and delivery vehicle. only had it for 6 months now

ive had the mr2 for like 4-5 years. always changing my mind wheather to mod it or sell it lol one time i was about to sell it for 5gs

i had a number a interested ppl, it was all beaten up with mass repair needed both the engine and exterior.

i convince my self to mod it. my turbo and power fc just arrived today. so fkn happy atm :) engine mods are first to go in. im confused on what to do next? full suspension upgrade eg anti sway bars, strut braces, and coilovers OR get some nice rims ?

either option will cost me 3-4gs. what do you guys recommend?

I saw a red sw20 rev1/2 with number plates Keels01 on south road near the city

Also saw a white sw20 with a largish dent in the front passenger guard parked out the front of some apartments in mawson lakes
Ps whoever you are im going to bump into in the next couple of weeks as im doing an annual test on your building (Chubb Fire Safety)

LaNkII - i think we have seen the same car! white sw20 little beaten up trd badge on the back (not the one i saw at mawson lakes though)

dRu- i have a stock na rev1 however i have done some work on quite a few mates cars although im still learning all the time but!
if your car was mine and had the spare cash i would definately go the suspension route first as this will greatly affect what rims you can actually fit on your car depending what coilovers you get, also you will have a lot more fun in your car with a full suspension upgrade namely: (again if it were my car)
Coilovers (what ever floats your boat dont get too harsh though otherwise your teeth will fall out if its a daily and adelaide roads are pretty piss poor)

FRONT anti sway bar whiteline/trd/etc apparently on an mr2 upgrading the front sway bar will have a greater effect compared with the rear (this info comes from Chameleon) but if you have some cash to burn then get the set but be careful to get the right size as different rev/gen sw20 mr2s have different length sway bars!!!

strut braces- go the trd ones especially for the rear as few aftermarket strut braces are four point like the trd one (these are quite expensive though compared with other brands of strut braces around 500-650AUD delivered??)

After that i would be looking at getting some nice wheels to set off your ride as there is nothing worse than buying one set of rims and then having to buy another set after you have upgraded the suspension due to rubbing on the guards when turning
If i was going to buy some rims i would always value width before height as width greatly effects your road grip (dry conditions) but be careful as the wider the rims the LESS grip you will have when its really wet and on dirt roads

My mistake! the BUSHES for the sway bars are different! haha i was a bit sleepy when i posted that last night
the good sway bars (eg. whiteline) should have both types of bushes

nice advise midnightcruiser!!! i will start the suspension upgrade first after the engine is in and running.

im thinking TRD strut brace but should i get both front and rear? same goes with the sway bars, get front and rear?

OR just get a rear TRD strut brace and front anti sway bars?

im not sure what coil overs ill get but they have to be repairable in AUST.... maybe a set of tiens SS

If it's going to be a daily driver, then Tein SS is the way to go, I love them. As for strut brace, I think the stock ones do fine you should upgrade these last or when it's really convenient. Definitely do suspension first! As everyone has said, just go for front adjustable sway bars, no need for rears unles they are screwed...

spotted a white SW20 on Daws Rd Clovelly Park Rego *** 248.
I have a suggestion that we only put the last 3 numbers of the rego.
We don't want to upset anyone by putting their full number plates on a forum.

What does every one think of this idea?
