    Post up the pics.
Might be able to do for a quick once over if not too far away from me :)
Cars always look better in pictures than in real life.

    Carless again :(

Windscreen will be an issue . Any chips ? thats what they look at first bar anything .
No that its dark after 6.00 go to an after hours place for the RWC :)

Pay more less hassle. But at the end of the day you are cheating yourself if the car really isnt RW . A risk i wouldnt take especially with the cowboys out there cutting up their cars and playing around with wires.

    What mods dose it have?
They recently brought in new laws witch the are required to take pics.
Ther're also allowed to be a little more lenient on wind screens

Yes they now take pictures at the roadworthy, so that if you start changing things after the roadworthy, the roadworthy guy is covered.

You can still do some modifications, but they will probably need to be engineered, which can very quickly become expensive.
The engineer carries full personal legal responsibility for any modification he approves, so they are not terribly keen on taking responsibility anything really radical.

Ild say it would be based on what mods and if they are visible that would cause the mechanic to take pictures.

I sold my BMW last month with no mods and it was in and out , no issues at all

It started back in September. All car have to be have to be done not just modified ones.

    Photo placing vehicle at workshop
another on the hoist with wheels removed
    one showing VIN
    one showing odometer
any defects need to be photographed
All photos have to be time and date stamped
all photos have to be stored for 7 years on 2 forms of media

What caused all of this was guys getting pulled over and being defected, borrowing standard parts from their mates, getting a roadworthy certificate, then putting the illegal parts back on.

When the same guy gets pulled over again and again, and keeps getting roadworthy certificates the cops and TAC started accuse the people that gave him the roadworthy.
No way to prove a thing either way.
So now TAC insist on photographs, which have to be kept for seven years by the people giving the roadworthy.

If there is a problem, the roadworthy guys say hey look, "it sure was not lowered that far when it came through here" or whatever....

As someone who does rwc checks daily you can EASILY jib these pictures.

For starters you only need the picture with the wheels off "if" the wheels were off whilst checking brakes (in other words wheels do not have to come off)

Odometer picture only shows kays and no modifications.

So too the chassis number picture (so no pic of the engine bay anyway)

Pictures of the car on the hoist/front/rear etc can still have the car on the hoist and that means you dont actually see the vehicles height if you dont want to.

Lenient towards windscreens now? I dissagree on that point.

The reasons they did this according to questioning them when we did our upgrade at that time was so they could stop people doing dodgy rwc (cars never even checked, over the phone rwc, cut and shuts and rebirth/kays wound back etc)

I am not condoning doing anything unlawful and certainly do not do dodgy rwc myself. just merely picking fault with a flawed control system.

One thing that should change is standardised rwc costs. atm there is no plan to do so but the price difference place to place can be huge.

To the op. Have a read of the information online about the victorian rw rules (all the info is there for you) and suss it out before you make your purchase.

    Well thats strange .

Like i said sold my BMW 4 weeks ago. Drove to K-mart with the new owner , had 2 cigarettes he signed the paper work and he was off to Vic roads next stop and all was good.

The car as i said was stock engine wise but was lowered with 17 inch wheels which are AOK as the M3 had them.

No issues , so i am surprised

But definitely i would make sure there would be no issues first before purchasing the car

I sold my AW11 to a Victorian & the modifications got through without drama. Had rims, zorst, headers & even a standalone ecu. Unless it's pretty wild, shouldn't be much drama.

I heard on the news that they are wanting to change rules down here in Vic to be more in line with annual testing for road worthy as the congestion of our roads is getting ridiculous.
Many due to very old cars breaking down on the arterial's and causing grief.

There was no text written about being more lax to that either. we havent change our stance on windscreens.
