Where to find a Gen 3 GTE
Hey everyone Im looking to buy a Gen 3 GTE very soon so that i can begin to build it up over the next year or so. I have searched various dismantlers and engine importers and can not managed to find any that have Gen3's. For those who have done engine swaps, where do you guys find your engines? Im absolutely stumped Cheers

Ichiban has gen 3s .Around $2800 -$3000 for a rear cut But the Gorilla/dylmrt longblock has been compression tested so thats where I would be going.

it depends on if he needs the lot to do a conversion, or just the long motor to build up etc and fit with all the fruit like ECU, turbo, fuelling upgrades etc. if it's for a conversion, then it's good to get a halfut then you have the loom and ecu etc, but not a conv, long motor is best route. tho dylmrt may have the loom/ecu etc to go with the motor?

Mrskylighter: Thanks, yeah i gave them a buzz and unfortunately they only have a gen2 in stock at the moment Tree: Yes i will but not until im ready to swap the engines over once the GTE is built...that wont be for at least a year Dylan: That engine looks great, i might grab that off you and how much would you be willing to sell the intake manifold for?. Excuse my ignorance but does long block mean that it has a 5S bottom end? Rizo: Thanks mate, ill keep ichiban in mind. Just_ace: You're right, im not in need for a half cut as i dont need the whole package since im just building the engine up and will be replacing most parts with aftermarket items e.g. bottom end, turbo, ECU, fuel upgrades etc etc. As for a loom and all the sensors etc i will source that later on as it isnt the highest on the priority list for the moment as the engine wont be going in for a least a year.

long motor means it has the head attached iirc, short motor means bottom end only. dyl's motor is std gen3 2L.
