AW11 + Carbon Fibre = Yes please!

A good friend of mine has just set up his workshop making custom CF/fibreglass/kevlar parts and wanted to know if I knew of people looking for bits and pieces. Yep - me! As we're going to be making up moulds for all the AW11 pieces I am getting - headlight covers, engine bay sides, engine bay vent (modified to be one piece with a bigger scoop), C pillar trims, possibly some interior pieces and rear visor (stay tuned, this one is going to be SUPER special) and I've volunteered to be a test mule, I was wondering if any of you guys were interested in setting up a group buy? I don't have a final quote on prices yet, but he's given me a bit of an idea what to expect and it should definitely come in cheaper than the C7Carbon/Retrowhatever + postage stuff that was talked about on here then sort of died off. He is currently supplying to quite a few well-known motorsport teams, so his quality is exceptional from what I've seen so far.
If you are interested, just reply with what you might be interested in (even stuff that I haven't mentioned yet - I have my whole car pulled apart so can make moulds of almost anything) and I'll see what I can organise with him.

Cheers

EDIT: Righto, prices (as some people seem to be missing my post on this).
*Headlight covers - $220 in straight CF, $170 in CF-skinned fibreglass
*rear diffuser/rain visor - $220 in straight CF with recessed 'Toyota' or Toyota emblem (either way) or $170 in CF-skinned fibreglass
*engine bay sides - $220 in straight CF, $170 in CF-skinned fibreglass

At the moment I am working on these along with external C-pillar trims and engine bay vent. I am willing to front the mould cost if there is enough interest IN THESE PIECES TO BEGIN WITH. Once the moulds are done and enough of these have sold, then I can look at doing bonnets/engine bay lids/boots/spoilers/guards/etc.
Thanks guys

I have a mold for making factory front lips, let me know if he is interested in using it to churn a few out for the public. I also have some parts that could be used to make moulds if wanted.

Not at the moment, but they definitely can be. Are all AW11's power window and are there different variants of door cards? It can still be done, but makes it a bit harder needing to do moulded cutouts.

That would be all sorts of rad, brings me to the conversations we had today - there is a mould cost (he is just charging me for the materials to make them, not labour) that would have to be absorbed into the price of the first few sets. Even then it looks like $220 for a pair of headlight covers or engine bay sides or the rear visor (with a recessed Toyota badge or Toyota in writing, we're still figuring that one out ;) ) OR the other alternative is CF-skinned fibreglass, which brings the cost around to $170 for those items. Personally I'd prefer to have pure CF as it brings you the street creds, but it's up to you guys. Ideally I'd want 2-3 people paying a $50 deposit per item before I go ahead with it as I have to pay the mould cost upfront. We're still working out how to get the mounting spot on for the C-pillar trims, however he's confident we can come to solution that's as good as the OEM version. As for the side vent, are people ok with a scoop instead of the grille? It would greatly simplify things and bring the cost down significantly.
Also I have parts for you still sitting here, PM'd

Pics?  Once this first batch is out of the way, he said he would be keen take on some bigger projects - bonnets, engine bay lids, boot/spoilers, front lips - basically ANYTHING. He is already doing complete floorpans/skinning entire fuel tanks in kevlar, so has no qualms about taking on large projects.

So basically I am way keen for this **** and ok with paying for all the moulds (quite a substantial chunk of money) if I can get some more people interested. Tell all the AW11 owners you know!

Very interested! Mostly at the moment in the external c pillar trims and visor! What price are you looking at for those? CF or fibreglass to paint. Either way.

Rear visor (or diffuser, whatever you want to call it) is $220 in full carbon or $170 in skinned fibreglass. Will have the original Toyota writing recessed into it (ie. it's going to look sick). External C pillar trims are still being worked on, but should be very similar prices for the pair (so much cheaper than Retro/C7 Carbon).

I'm mainly just looking for the missing bits. Possibly replace the two side ones if they are of good quality.
