Hi Everyone Dave here.
I bought my MR2 1991 in December i was concerned about it having 290 thousand ks on the clock but inside and out was in pristine condition although now i have a noticeable mark on it from someone opening a door onto it.There were a few problems when i took it for a test drive but they have now been fixed and cost me very little the car is down on horsepower but starts and runs beautiful it is straight as a die but some paintwork needs touching up as mentioned. This is a car which grew on me rather than immediately loving it as i did my last car i love the seats the handling and i am sure the power when i get around to recon or buy another motor and i absolutely love the look of the car to me it has character unlike the cars of today. There is only one thing i do not like and that is it is my everyday drive but that cannot be helped i might be biased but so far i cannot fault anything about this car.

Hi Dave,
Welcome to the joys of MR2 ownership.
The MR2 Nationals are on in Adelaide over the October long weekend which would be a great way for you to meet a lot of other enthusiasts and check out their cars.
A few of us SA guys attend Mallala a couple of times a year if you're interested in hitting the track. There is also the MR2 Wakefield Park Challenge in November which is a great event.
If you need any help, you'll find plenty of knowledgeable people on this forum.

Cheers
Rick

Welcome to the joys of MR2 ownership.
As Sharon mentioned, the Nationals are on in Adelaide over the October long weekend. Details can be found on this forum. A few of us will be doing a track day at Mallala on Thursday 28th Sept if you're interested in coming along (either spectate or join in the fun).

Hi I'm David and am just a few weeks into MR2 ownership. I recently purchased a 87 AW11 that was a daily driver. I work for a Toyota dealership and have always wanted one of the coolest cars around. My vehicle is an Australian delivered and complianced hardtop vehicle in original trim and look apart from the radio. (search project) The old girl does need a tidy up and has had a repair in the RH 1/4 that needs to be redone, so is in the shed for a bit of a freshen up for now. Hope to get to Birdwood for a look around.

It's great to have another SA MR2 owner.
Hopefully we'll see you on the weekend (bring your car!)
A few of us are going to Mallala on Thursday if you're interested (and can get time off)
There are plenty of knowledgeable people on this forum who are always helpful if you need it.

Whilst that would be nice, my MR2 is on some stands at the moment so I hope to be there to take a look at some fine samples. Hopefully in the new year I can get some km's on it, and to the track would be nice.
Anyone done any Hill climbs?

The best MR2 track event in the country is the MR2 Wakefield Park Challenge in November https://www.mr2australia.com/mr2play/tm.aspx?m=134117
I've been to it for the last 3 years, and will be there in November too.
It's a 3600 km round trip for me (i live in Ceduna), i spend 2 days on the road each way and think it's well worth the effort. There are guys from Queensland, Victoria, NSW and even Tassie that make the trip, so it's a great social event as well.

Hi I'm Kristian. Im from Victor Harbor in SA. Never owned an MR2 but in the market for one. In the past I've had a 1994 Toyota Soarer SC300 and loved it. Hoping to get my hands on either a AW11 or SW20 model. Seems to be a bit tough to find at the moment. Once I get one I'd def be keen on some club runs etc.
Anyways, nice to meet you and any help is always appreciated!

Hi Kristian, you might be in luck as I'm (sadly) looking at moving on my SW20 JDM turbo (white targa) with mild enhancements, which has been my baby for the last 8 or so years. PM me if interested for full details or you can contact me direct 0422630186. Located in Adelaide SA.

Hi,
I'm Graham, based in the Adelaide Hills. I have an SW20 NA which I've had a few years now which I use for hill climb events and MSCASA super sprint. Would be interested in recommendations and advice about local suppliers & knowledge as I'm looking to do some upgrades and mods. Also, would be interested in hitting the track with some other MR2's - and getting more out to the Supersprint which is a great series. Not sure what other local events MR2 drivers are going to?

Cheers

Graham
