Engine bay Air deflector.
Guys can someone tell me where and how exactly does the air deflector underneath the engine bay for the sw20 attach to. Mine didn't come with one and ive managed to source one from here but not sure how to attach it.i haven't gone under the car and attempted it yet, just thought id ask before attempting it, also what size nuts and bolts does it use? And pics of it attached or a diy article would be great. Cheers

Depending which year plastic panels you have there will be 2 or 3 . There are 3 brackets 51445‑17010 51457‑17010 51446‑17010

twomr2`s
should all be 10mm bolts.theres 2 brackets that come down from the chassis/firewall(exhaust side of engine),and the other mounting points are left and right of the brackets.
The actal bolt thread is M6 and the bolts are about 15 mm long. They need a 10 mm socket to tighten them.

thanks lads. I'm not sure what year the panel has come from.if there anyway to tell the different ones apart...
Twomr2s, thanks buddy.how much you want for them?.
Btw, I'm assuming this panel is a bigg player in engine bay cooling. Or am I wasting my time on a piece thats useless. I don't have any aftermarket cooling fans our anything like that.
Cheers

This is one piece or 2 piece depending on the year. 2 piece is better . Makes changing oil easier And this shows the other piece

One you need is about 5 inches long and about 30 degree angle and the second is the long straight one about 4 inches long. The short stubby one holds the panel under the fuel tank.. That panel also bolts to the engine bracket on the fire wall,

Thanks guys, this explains why the engine mount near the firewall has that bracket with the mounting hole on it. I've wondered a few times when under the car what it was for.
On a side note. I also have the front radiator undertrays the triangle shaped ones for both sides are these a fairly straight forward fitment? I have an aftermarket lip so not sure where the front part mounts to.
I girds I'm going to be peeking underneath all the sw20s at hh to see how they are mounted.thanks once again lads
Cheers

Aftermarket lip , i doubt they will have the mounting locations but i could be wrong. You really need those deflectors in place

Thre aftermarket lip had the holes for mounting onto the front bar is that where these trays mount as well?
My cars never had them.the radiator and the ones near the engine.

+1 They are an important part of the cooling system to help airflow through the radiator.
