12 hours from now, I most likely will be banned from this forum. I going to tell you guys a true story about the sad state of the mechanical trade and one particular person whom most of you know and may hold a high opinion of. As I have said in previous posts I'm not one to flame mechanics in a public forum but this is a very special case as I don't want what has happened to me to be suffered by anyone else.

It'd be NSW.

Mate, if you just tell the truth & refrain from jumping to aggressive conclusions, then you should not be banned/suspended etc. Besides, the said person isn't even on the forums anyway.

After some reflection I have come to the conclusion that flaming anyone in an open forum is for starters, well beneath me and also not in the spirit of what I believe this forum represents. However, for anyone who feels they might benefit from knowing what has transpired, feel free to pm me and I can tell you in great detail how you (if you are unlucky enough to pick the wrong mechanic) can throw $2000+ at a car and get it back in worse condition than before it was worked on.

How did the mechanic explain himself after replacing so many parts with no result?
The cooling system in these cars is not that complex, it's not hard to determine what the problem is when an MR2 is overheating without changing one part after another.
I didn't read every post in this thread but did he use that tool that checks for exhaust gases in the cooling system first?

Spill the beans , if you are 100% that they did something stupid. Lets see if somehow it can be fixed.

Naming isnt an issue if they genuinely made a mistake.

I recall on my first build , mechanic forgot to torque down and add some loctite of the oil pump gear.

Lucky i was warming the engine in the garage when all of a sudden i could hear a scraping sound.
Stopped the engine gave them a call and they came over. Took the cam cover off and there it was at an angle. To say he was red faced was an understatement.

Needless to say i havent used them for my SC engine build and will  never ever use them again.

This is a mistake not total negligence but if something went wrong they would of paid for the repairs

Just spet the last 2 hours bleeding the coolant system. Followed all the usual guides and all went well. Funny thing is that the temp gauge never went over half way even though the car was running for nearly an hour and a half while being stationary. Rad fans came on a few times but ony on low speed.

Whereas I bled the system yesterday and drove the car 3 times for 30 min at a time and the temp Temp only went up when I pulled into my driveway after the third run. Let it cool down and put another 500 ml of water in the system. Which isn't out of the ordinary if you believe all the bleeding guides.
Consider me stumped.

The name of the mechanic is very important. Otherwise you wont understand just how f**k*d up this whole saga has been. Say I took the car to Joe Habibs Mechanical repairs and he stuffed up? You would say "what do you expect, its old mate Joe working on the car he doesnt know toyotas or MR2s". However Say I took the car to a Toyota "Guru" as they are known and he stuffed up, well that puts a whole different spin on the whole matter. Ill tell anyone who asks via pm.

You're using red coolant right?
