regardless, mandalay has gen3/beams items and you have a gen2 so wouldn't fit anyway. i have one from an NA only. but you've got one sorted now, and new is better. very hard to come across a 20yr old one of these without corrosion on the pipes, may not be enough to cause a leak but better to fit a new one if you can.

Hey guys, just a quick update, looks like I will be replacing all of the cooling system hoses. But I have the same issue with delivery time from toyota japan, 3-4 weeks. Have any of you used aftermarket hoses before and if so where did you get them from?

Hey, thanks for the offer. I was just after info regarding aftermarket cooling hoses. I'm rebuilding the cooling system on the car and wanted to put brand new hoses to go with the new radiator, thermostat, coolant outlet and water pump

I have seen those as well. They are listed for gen 3 engines. Can't be sure that they will fit on a gen 2. They look very similar to the samco hoses. I haven't been given a price yet for the oem Toyota hoses but it should be interesting to see the difference in price between eBay, samco and oem.

Paul is a good guy, very helpful when I spoke to him. What part was he referring to? The coolant housing or the hoses?

Gen 3 ones (silicon) fit a gen 2 without any issues, I have them on mine and pretty sure admin use them too.

The MR2 cooling system isn't the most complicated in the world. Once you've eliminated the below culprits, it's usually a blown HG or cracked block (VERY rarely cracked head): Thermostat (common culprit) Radiator cap Hole in the system (usually radiator) Blocked/kinked overflow

Is it using up coolant? When does it overheat? After some boost?
