Useless, silly or annoying things installed by previous owners??
So most mr2's would have had a few mods done to them... I have a decent list, although some might disagree with me :D Useless -> HKS Turbo timer - yes it has a intended "purpose" i guess, but really its pointless! By the time you park or drive into the garage, get seat belt off, get out, grab your wallet & phone etc, its fine. I have checked it works once and then never used it again. -> Dvd player - why the hell do you need a dvd player in a car unless its in the back to keep the kids quiet -> O2 gauge connected to stock O2 sensor (narrowband) - i didnt see any value -> 10inch sub behind each seat - you dont need this much bass, the gain on the amp is turned down to 20% or so, waste of storage space, one sub would be plenty in such a small cabin Silly and annoying -> Extreme low Kings springs with original shocks - camber is ridiculous, ride well no comment! -> Pricey 18inch Italian wheels - offsets were totally wrong, heavy as, too wide, 25mm spacer in rear, could have bought some nice lightweight 17inch jap wheels for the same $$$ -> Small steering wheel, and hub with no ring for horn contact, combined with heavy wheels and no power steering, another no comment! -> A pillar dual pod - had too look around it to turn right! Slowly going through the list and fixing things... Whats on your list???

Had a number of annoying things when I got it, Huge clip on reversing mirror, Horrible Wood Grain dash stickers over a lot of bits, took a long time to get off. Flashing washer squirter's! Couple of interior neans that flashed with the beat. Huge EXPLICIT sticker on the windscreen! Had a cheap electronic boost controller on it that didn't even work, there wasn't even a gauge to say what it was running, it wasn't even installed correctly It's all gone now. No offence to anyone with this sort of stuff, I just like my car clean, flashy things can be good if done right, this just wasn't even close

Thats funny, coz i 've installed almost all of the above 1 X 10" sub behind the passenger seat i never use now 1 X DVD player + Reversing camera + Sat Nav (it was half price and free install from a competition) <-- i use DVD music videos and 1 DVD can store all of my music in MP3 format which plays fine. and videos only operate (or should operate) when the handbrake is up. 1 X 290mm small steering wheel, fixed the horn about 12months after i installed the horn. 1 X A pillar dual pod, get use to looking around it. Add to that, as i've almost finished my project. Dual headlights -- Stupidly expense and barely up half the time. Boost controller - Barely Crank it up to full boost, Extra Defi gauges to match the Boost gauge i installed alarm with a builtin turbo timer which i never use or bother configuring because of what you have mentioned above. But if you look at it in a differing light, i'm happy with what i've made of the car from basic stock form from a long term 15yr project point of view.

The only annoying thing I had was the pod filter, which some previous numbnuts owner saw fit to chop off the original intake pipe and glue to it. Thus, the only way to replace the filter is to replace the entire intake. =_=

Because they got a few things right on mine... :D Gen3 turbo engine (that wasn't fidded with, stock turbo/ecu/boost), greddy side skirts, greddy intercooler, fgk exhaust, and it was rarely driven (probably due to some of the mods in first post)

Actually very good point on the dvd player for storing heaps of mp3's!!, i will burn some this weekend! Thanks! Steering wheel was actually very nice but with no power steering on mine and the massive wheels it was way too heavy.

Done by Toyota: An Automatic Transmission - Pretty self explanatory Chime when going into reverse (I am going backwards so thats a given!) An automatic transmission A Factory Sub made out of tissue paper oh and an automatic transmission Done by previous owner: Glove box latch was faulty to to hold glove box closed they used a large teck-screw. Placed a wired remote with glue onto the face of the head-unit, and was then moved to steering column where it restricted movement of wiper stalk.

Previous owner/s had a sub and huge, huge amp installed. intead of removing the wiring when they removed the sub, there was many, many live wires running through my car. good thing I stripped the interior out to clean it the day I bought it.
There was also approx 30 Meters of cable that ran to no where, and some crumby TRD Racing badge on the back
Looks good now that its gone :D

Yeah i bought mine with an upside down head unit and trd stickers everywhere which all came off nicely accept for one which took the paint with it. Oh and there was a boost gauge installed on the steering column which made it hard to see the Speedo.

Supercheap auto pod which had rusted. I don't know how well these cheap pods work but it was off the car asap. We once bought a gt4 Celica and it had a number of stupid things on it. Neons under the car, neons all through the car, two subs in the boot which took the whole thing up and weighed at least 100kg. 15inch wheels with what seemed like +50 offset and another supercheap pod that had completely rusted.

I have what was similar some of yous (where do these guys come from?): DVD Player - sold it for $300 10 inch sub - sold for $50 Crappy, unstaggered thin wheels (very very very old tyres) - sold for $170 290-300mm steering wheel - sold for $50 (surprised there was a buyer lol) 4 inch fart cannon Pedders lowered rear spring, stock front spring Triple cigarette lighter plugs just dangling Interior wiring is all messed up 5% Tint side windows (blind when driving at night) Probably not worth mentioning but a red "Drift" brand seat thin cover only driver side Other than that the car was very OEM and very clean body. Not to mention hardtop which I thought was rare (not anymore)
