looking at getting some new tyres for my rims tomorrow

Hey guys just bought some newish wheels for my 1990 n/a just wondering what size tyres should I get for the front with a stock suspension setup rim size is 17/7 with a + 35 offset if i'm not mistaken,  i have a set of four wheels with 225/45 tyres which are fine in the back but the suspension sits on the tyres... what do you guys recommend and I don't want to go too low profile that I have a bad ride.

    235 on a 7" rim?

    Probably not much good (too sloppy).
    215 fits perfectly on 7".

    you'd still want staggered tho, so maybe a 225 on the rear. 205 on the front.

    thanks guys i ended up changing the fronts too 205/40 looks so tiny compared to the 225/45 on the back but fits great cost me 190 for 2 tyres including wheel alignment and fitting. Was planning to pay more but decided I need to save money for other things on the car.
