I don't agree. Plenty of MR2's have made more power than that with worse off motors. It's more towards a combination of cams, poor tuning (I reckon the timing was off too).

dont take offense man, i think travs just saying that Hueys is a place to do work as opposed to a social point which I think too many people think it is.

Pat, hang in there man like any relationship there are set backs but a good session in the twisties (or sack) should setup your resolve.

Theres not been a lot of action with the motor for the past few weeks. Still waiting on parts, heres a few pics of bits and pieces dummied up to keep the interest going.

Very nice, was wondering when you would update this. Looks like things are going very well indeed. Is that exhaust manifold a custom piece Ian has made? Very sorry to see what had happened to the previous rebuilt engine.

ive forgotten about the old engine evl, i get over things quickly. i got the manifold from ems, a mate smoothed out the welds and i had it ceramic coated. i got it cheap as i promised ems i would do a write up on the manifold. turns out it the workmanship wasnt all that great so no write up. the guy is an assh*le.

thats my block in the picture, the head is set aside for machining once i get my valves. all the parts im waiting for are in transit i believe.

will be analysing that system closely darren, im not sure if i have sized the reservoir/top up tank big enough. have you made any plans yet in regard to yours? seems even the most basic w2a has benefits over a2a.

if i had known i was stroking the motor i would have gone for the bigger housing trav. will be interesting to see how this goes though. there should be big torque early on
