That's a damned good point Essdub! I can't believe I didn't think of this. The original pressure plate I had to replace after the car was dynoed. At 500,000km its clamping force was lacking. But the noise wasn't there!
 
That flywheel bolt is exactly the same as the others. The sound was there before I fitted it.
