anyone care to take a punt as to how many kw a supercharged or turbo'd version could get up to (without going to crazy on extras, keeping most of the thing fairly stock)? someone on whirlpool mentioned HKS are making a supercharger kit for it....warranty be damned.

7 PSI SC will definitely make 220 - 230 Kilowatts at the rears so around 300 RWHP. I think Turbo will just be too hard. SC being a better option at this stage.

220-230 kW @ 7psi sounds pretty optimistic considering that would be ~100 rwkW over stock?

Not really, done it with my car. Power is the same as the Beams RED TOP 147 Kw's I lowered compression from 11:1 to 8.9:1. 7 psi gave 208 RWKW's So 12.5:1 will easily go over 220 RWKW's I know someone who already has one with the engine out and apart :) A low boost application wont need any upgrades. Only the big boys will have ECU's that can do both direct and port fuel injection. So the probability is only MoTec

Well the pricing is out now and is surprisingly low The entry manual model will be $29,990 odd and the auto $32,490. That gets you 147kw and 205nm. There is a GTS version which probably has leather and other goodies for another $5,000 I think. Looks like the more powerful upmarket engine will be in the Subaru version as someone mentioned earlier but it's a lot of car for the money considering the price of new MX5's.

It's cheaper then I thought it would be. I don't know if I'm blind or what, but it has no visual appeal to me :(! It looks all out of proportion. Maybe once I see it in the flesh out on the road I will change my mind.

That said I'll be watching the resale market over the next few years as the first owners take the depreciation hit.

I think its the horrid factory wheels more than anything, slightly lower and on some decent looking wheels and I think it'd look great. This is THE MR2/Celica replacement that we've been waiting a long time for - GTS is the one to get.

For me it's the huge seemingly bland C pillars contrasting against the intricate and detailed front end that just seem a little off. Undecided about the wing. Either way CMI Toyota will have them on the showroom floor on the 18th of June so I'll be sure to check them out.
