The alarm now works constantly, and so does the horn. And the central locking flicks on and off when I turn the blinker on.

So technically everything works, but they don't stop working when I want them to

Mine has been off the road for six months now. But that's because I took on a engine swap and had to move interstate halfway through.

For the last month however I've been doing battle with some undiagnosable flywheel/bearing noise.

Had mine for 3 1/2 years. Everything was fine during this period. Wasn't driven hard but did get a workout here and there. $$$ in mods added to it, regular servicing. Only issues were clutch (died with more power over factory), rear right wheel bearing and the air con went on it about 6months before I sold it.

Bought my Sdub for ~ $800 wasnt test driven or even started, didnt see it all before I bought it and was unregistered.... (all that it needed for rego was an indicator, near side mirror and a bit of a clean)

Apart from Alternator dying (gave me plenty of notice), getting AC re-gassed and rocker cover gaskets replaced (car had been sitting for months) it has been perfect daily that works and gets used driven 350-450km a week.

I had an sw20 for 2 years, took it to the track on 6 occasions. Worst thing that happened! I had a distributor cap and rotor fall apart on me at the end of a track session. Cause I believe was one of the two screws that hold the rotor on to it's backing was missing. I've had my aw11 now for less than a month and had to replace the plug leads due to a lead failure but other than that everything works and it's being daily driven at the moment. I'm pretty on the ball with service intervals and drop the oil before and after track days

I've had my 1992 SW20 turbo for 3 years now as a daily. taken it from 181,000km to 240,900km today :P

I've had plenty of problems with the front torque mount, which consequently broke a clutch hard line twice. I pulled the engine out the second time that line broke to give it an external overhaul. replaced the ECU to a Gen 3 ECU, and the exhaust. also running a hiflowed turbo from when i bought it.

Ultimately, it's not the most reliable car, has it's problems (and is smoking a bit now, so it's going to die fairly soon) but it's done pretty well for a 20 year old car.

I've had my 1990 sw20 for 7 years (60,000km) and the only time I had an issue was when I played with the AFM (did'nt tighten the potentiometer arm and it became too rich to run) but apart from that not a problem.

I bought my SW20 22 years ago with 7Ks on the clock and now it has 162Ks and it has only let me down once with a flat battery (no big deal). It has been my daily drive and I would absolutely say it has been reliable ! The occasional let down is the price we have to pay for driving cars that are 20 years old. No car has been designed to last this long.

In 7 years the only probs I've had are alternator, and just recently ignition woes.
In saying that both were a relatively easy fix. Oh, and the AC needs gas, but that doesn't affect how it runs.
And it is my daily, not bad for a car made in 1988.

What we're dealing with here is a complete lack of respect for the law.-"Sheriff Buford T. Justice."
Do you know the 1st rule of Italian driving?
