Dan's Adub SC

Alright!

so i got this car mid last year, found it off the forum so i've been meaning to make a thread about it for a while.

The car is a 1987 JDM import, came fitted with an ae101 4agze, Haltech e6x ecu and 15x8 + 25 OG San Wheels.

This is my first car, i gotta admit its a pretty crazy one ,

Anyway since i bought it there were alot of things changed such as wheel bearings, brake hoses, exhaust tip, engine mount, rebuilt alternator, modified supercharger pulley (not for extra power, the original fell off ), springs and numerous other things.

Here are the mad chopped springs that got pulled out:

And here is what i replaced it with:
RSR Ti-2000 HD Springs

I guess the main goal at this moment is to fix up the suspension. The shocks are in pretty poor condition, especially the front ones as there is practically no rebound resistance, so i've purchased some koni Yellows which will get installed soon .

Anyway here is what the car looks like now:

In terms of looks im pretty happy....front bumper needs a respray and the headlight eyebrow needs to be replaced which should be done in the next week

Will keep updating!

Cheers,
Dan

    thanks!

we do..... but there are exemptions.
i have not had any issues to date, even when i was pulled over. The officer did look at the supercharger decal, but that was about as far as his inspection went.

Lovely car - enamoured as I am with the A-dub, I'm trying to decide between the super and the atmo. Those wheels of yours go quite well. Glad to hear you haven't been getting much in the way of cop trouble too.

My old ADUB!!! Was impressed to hear it made it to VIC flawlessly. I had a feeling there'll be a round of maintenance required in its future, but I'm happy to see it's running well. Btw, the ECU is a Haltech E8 from memory.

Thats super clean and an awesome car for a p-plater especially on your reds!!!!!! Becareful and treat it well, if you want to find out what these cars are capable of there are track days at Sandown raceway. Took my Adub to one and was super impressed with the handling especially as it was wet as well. Didnt quite have the power tho :( lol.

    Good luck with it!

Nice, my first car was an SC (and two tone) too.  Only trouble being once you've got the Adub bug, it's hard to give them up!

You coming on the cruise, danm? I'm hoping someone will have an A-dub, or my being there will be rather redundant! ;)

I just realised I assumed you were a Perthite (arrogance on my part, apologies). From which state do you come?

Haven't put in an update in ages!

Since the last post a little bit of work has been done to the car.

Put in the koni shocks, which are awesome!
Also did a bit of work to fix the dead zone in the steering rack. Changed the inner tie rods which helped improve the steering but there is still a bit of play. I did a bit of research and i think it is due to the plastic bushing which sits next to the passenger side inner tie rod. Will have look at it sometime.

Also put in a Quaife Quick rack. Even though the steering gets a bit heavy while parking, it is by no means overwhelming and i absolutely love it. Makes the steering that little bit more fun.

Besides that an alignment was done after the rack was put in which really helped make the handling less twitchy.

Im very lazy when it comes to photos but i took a few after a car wash:

I am currently working over in perth and unfortunately had to leave the car behind for a couple of months ...... but it gives me enough time to save up for my next purchase, which is gonna be tyres! woo

Been doing a bit of research and am tossing up between getting dunlop star specs or yokohama AD08's but also considering losing the stretched look if i'm going to invest in those tyres. Having said that my rims are 15x8 +25 and while 205/50r15 would only be a tiny stretch and acceptable im sure it would rub like all hell considering the ones i have now already rub.
So chances are im gonna lose the flush look and get some new rims also ...... am looking at getting some Enkei Rpf1's in 15x7 +35 and possibly having 195/50 up front and 205/50 in the back to accommodate for the extra power. Would that be a wise idea for an SC model?

Will update when i get back to driving in Melboune!
