Admin's GT4

I bought this car for $1300!
It had a seized engine. The clown I bought it from says it was knocking for a while and then one day it wouldn't crank over. Duh!
It now has a rebuilt JDM engine, Blitz ECU, high flow turbo, a bit more boost.
The rest of it is standard except for 17 inch wheels and a ST205 steering wheel.
It's a great car for the amount of money I have spent on it.
It's quicker in a straight line than one of the new Golf R's

Nah, test drive could be awkward.
So what did it cost to get it going?

    hehe
Rather than fix the seized engine, I bought a GT2 from a wrecker for less that what I could have bought just an engine so I wrecked that car and rebuilt that engine and then put it into the GT4. All I did was change the bearings, service the head, put new water pump and timing gear on it. With the wrecking of the GT2 and the money I made out of it, I probably didn't pay anything on top of the purchase price of the GT4 in order to get the GT4 going.
BTW the GT4 still had some rego when I bought it.
These cars are getting a bit old though if you can find an unmolested one like this, it's great bang for your buck.
This car was 100% original when I bought it. It even had the original wheels.
    Only 230000kms too.

It has a couple of minor dents here and there which I will get fixed eventually. The bonnet needs a respray as the clear coat is peeling off.
    I found it on eBay.
It had a horrible big stripe across the whole car. It took me 8 hours to get it all off. It was sun damaged so wouldn't peel off in one piece.

Awesome ride Bud, I love getting a nice cheap ride, its fun when everything just works out (finding a gt2 at the wrecker).

I've never found anything good at the wreckers around me :(

Great find and very, very nice for the $'s.
I also have a GT4 (Group A Rallye #94/150). Mine's in pretty good original condition, too, with genuine 140,000 kms.
What offset and width are your 17" rims ?
    cheers

Thanks for the comments guys. I do love the car. The only thing that would make me sell it if there was a ST205 in good condition for sale and for not too many $$$
