Nice work
that rebuild must have cost a bit...didn't want to just whack a gen3 in there? I probably would have.
these cars are the biggest money pit, but rewarding once you make progress.

yeah too much in fact, i could have bough another MR2 for the money i spent  :(
tbh i didnt have the time to think about the rebuild options etc as i didnt plan for it, just went with the normal/common upgrade stuff (which the engine builder suggested, and has proven itself many a time), i think almost every 3sgte build ive seen have used the same parts ive gone with
the gen 3 would involve more rewiring etc and i didnt want that plus its another gamble on what condition engine i would get, this way i know its all new, cars was due for a major service belts, gaskets, pumps etc so i reckon in the long run i did the right thing.
i need to grow a money tree in the backyard soon, or get real good at robbing banks

will be the same/similar colour for anyone wondering what the colour will be
i say similar cause im not sure what the car will look like when i get it...

any ideas on what to do with the wheels...
few have suggested painting the spokes black, some say white or even polishing the spokes and ive though about all of that plus leaving it as is..

No point in going a stock colour IMO. Why don't you keep it similar but throw in a decent pearl or something to give it that something extra. As for wheels...if it's staying the same colour or similar then I personally would hate to see anything black for wheels and chrome would look cheap. Polished lips and clean up the spokes and it'll look choice.

Thanks man I've always been a fan of the aquamarine pearl AMP as it's called colour.which is why I choose to go stock if you know the colour well you will know thats theres some form of glitter in there it's just not very visible from far. Also it's supposed to look a bit bluish in different lighting. Also with the wheels im leaning towards keeping it a is with a nice clean

im hoping thats the case, but all the parts that got taken out (bumpers, trims, inspection panel, light covers sideskirts etc) have to be done then put it back together then fit windscreen etc..

Wow mate this car is gonna be MINT!!
When I dropped mine off on Monday I saw yours was still white and the next day, all done lol
I can't wait to see once it's finished. Combined with the engine rebuild, she deserves to be in a front page of a car magazine. Hopefully you can make it to the nationals :)

hah yeah was in primer for a few days
only the body is done at this stage along with some parts that were removed, some still have to be painted.
i would like to make it to the nationals but its going to be a really tight squueze.
another big problem is chipping the paint as it will still be too soft and can get damaged easily, will have to keep my distance from the rest of the mob

Looks great! It really is a nice colour when in good condition - looses its classy appearance easily when it fades (IMO) << but i guess that goes with any paint.

Is this painted directly off the paint code?
Reason I ask is it looks a lot more blue then what mine was - could be just the photos playing tricks on my eyes.

Cant quite tell - are the holes on rear quarters welded up? Are you going with a Gen3(or newer) wing or staying with your original?
