legality of carbon fibre

I know carbon fibre bonnets are illegal in australia due to crumple zones etc, but what about carbon fibre engine covers?

    the stock item is a similar material, so you will be fine.

    Well the turbo lid is similar, n/a is steel.
     
    I can't see it being a big drama, it's not a load carrying area and it would be pretty hard to hit a pedestrian with it.
     
    As long as it properly made and isn't like to fly off I don't think you get picked for it, unless maybe you are in SA??!

    depends on how ridiculous it is, if it kept to the stock design and was CF then you should be OK. But if it was a PP style one in CF then you'd probably need the KY ready...
