Guys, just saw this:
http://www.perth-wrx.com/...s-sunday-19th-feb.html

Free Autokana Day. Considering its free, its hard to say how many people would go to this. May be worth a look.

Same Day as cruise Bugger!

Oh well - being a sunday - something was bound to clash.

Starts at 10 - maybe intereested parties can do both :)

Pretty sure week before is tuning day at AHG, Week after then is a Classic Rally Event at Midvale.

Heh, Read further into it. Their segmenting the skidpans in half. Effectively you don't get out of first gear. That explains why there is no requirement for helmet, long sleeves etc.

Combine the cruise with this!

I did a few of these years ago in my first sw20, yes, its first gear stuff but still a lot of fun, suits the mr2s well.  And being free, you would be mad not to give it a go.  Its great seeing all the specially built "cars" perform too.

Cheers

Unfortunately the most of this cruise is NOR and I have already printed maps out.

From my experience - 2 or 3 times at AHG, if they are not allowing you on their track it gets a bit boring, each to their own. That being said, its free - cant beat that, but hopefully an MR2 Cruise can come close

Absolutely!  Nothing quite like a bunch of MR2s driving down the road in convoy, it literally turns heads!  From memory the best turnout for a cruise the club had in the past was about 20 cars!

Hey guys, I have a University bridging course on that day but it's only from 9-12pm up in Joondalup. I'll easily be back down for a 1:30pm meet up at Garden City in the MR2. I'm living in Winthrop at the moment so it's only a hop skip and jump away from there.
Not really interested in the skidpan day since my car, last time, spun a big-end bearing during some hard driving around a roadcourse.. Bit of oil surge, so until I get the crank out and machined/balanced I can't really be driving it 10/10th's.. A job for WTF Auto I think.
Looking forward to this cruise. :)

^^^^ Thats right, just becuase you have the inferior version of the mr2 styled like a dump truck wheel chock does not mean you can't attend!

Just kidding, I am starting to become a fan of the little aw11.

Brings back memories of the old days the (friendly) sledging in the club that went on.  Every one told me my hard top sw20 was the "poverty pack"!!

Amusing. ;)

Just to re-iterate, I have no MR2, but have fallen deeply for the AW11 and wanna check it out (I've never actually been in one), and if I love it, I'll sell my S14. Hell, maybe someone on the cruise wants to sell theirs! ;) Then I can be one with the car that is the '80s shrunk down into a little espresso! ^_^
