From The President's Desk - The 2012 Run Calendar
As we discussed at the Christmas run with today's lifestyle it makes it easier to plan and budget if we know what is happening as far in advance as possible, so the intention is over the next two weeks to publish the whole of 2012's activities in advance. Make sure you keep a watch out for this and mark up your schedules, diaries, Facebook page or whatever to keep the days clear for what will be some well planned activities.
The new Run Manager has been working very hard over Christmas to set up the Queensland Run Calendar for the coming year. Routes have already been driven over, venues for stops looked at, and as many varied driving conditions found as possible. Coming across the Gypsy Jokers Motorcycle Annual Convention really wasn't planned but hopefully this group of over 150 Harleys won't be on the same road when we get there.
The runs will be scheduled so that we get a balance of going north, south and west, with a split between Saturdays and Sundays, and some other events that may cover just after dark or a whole weekend.
To start 2012 the following three events are now planned out and scheduled:
Saturday 25 February - North - all day - Sunshine Coast Hinterland - lunch near Kenilworth
Sunday 25 March - South - all day - Bangalow Markets via Numinbah Valley
Saturday 28 April - West - all day - Crows Nest
Detailed run sheets will be published one month before each event so also keep a lookout for these.
2012 marks a turning point for the Club in Queensland so we look forward to seeing everyone on the first run on Sunday 25 February, and keep an eye on the Forum for details of our new Club website and other news.
