Queensland President's Christmas Message

As the newly elected President of the MR2 Owners Club of Queensland I'd like to wish everyone, on behalf of Kathy and myself, a great Christmas and a safe and prosperous New Year.

I'd also like to thank Dennis and Louise for their stewardship of the Club over the past few years, and recognise Dennis's wish to continue helping out through his accepting the new role of Club Treasurer.

As Dennis has already indicated in his last posting "on the way forward" it was decided at the Christmas run that the time had arrived to move the Club to a new level. To do this Steve (Groper) has kindly agreed to act as Secretary, Kathy (Mrs Tralfaz) will be the Run Manager, and Dennis and Craig will take on the joint role of Technical Directors, in addition to Dennis being Treasurer and Immediate Past President.

We have a number of administrative things we have to do to get this going which I won't bore you with, but for all of us I am sure the most important thing is the getting together for runs.

Our aim is to publish a 12 monthly run calendar at the start of the year and we hope to have at least the first six months of 2012 ready by the end of the second week in January. The first run will be in February and there will be more on the Forum about this over the coming weeks so please keep an eye out for the details.

Mrs Tralfaz has also asked that if you have any ideas, favourite runs, old e-maps, etc; could you please PM me with them so she can include them in her planning. We want to make sure that everyone's interests are covered so if you think a track day or a night run would be good let us know, plus if you have any days on which you can't attend due to regular commitments, e.g. can't do third Saturday of each month.

The Committee looks forward to seeing everyone and their cars in the New Year for what we are sure will be a tremendous 2012.

Congrats to you and the GLT ( group leadership team lol ) for the restructure and for the plans moving forwards, looks to be a wise move.

I look forwards to some runs this year ( maybe some night runs ) when I get off my lazy  ass n finish my car, shut up James.

I would also like to say all the best and stay safe to everybody through the festive season.

I'm looking forward working with you if we are to organise some overnight runs together, or other events that we can work in conjunction. I will email you privately next year to discuss if you are interested.

Have a safe christmas and wonderfull new year.

    Happy Motoring

Merry Xmas everyone! I hope every one has a safe and enjoyable and relaxing break.
Take care on the roads and watch out for the revenue collectors. They'll be thick on the ground!
2012 is going to be a great year for the Qld chapter. It will be good to have regular events, again.
As Walter said, send in your fav. events, runs, ideas so we can reinvigorate the social activities!
Hope Santa is kind to all of you.
Merry Xmas and Happy New year!
    Steve
