Daves #2 AW11 4AGTE

This is my #2 AW11 which is a MAP 4AGZE converted to 4AGTE. Unlike the Grey SC14 this red one needed a **lot** of of work which is still going on. It finally got a road worthy back in Aug 2011 after playing around with crap for nearly 12-months after I bought it, Dennis is still working on the last few things before it comes back to me maybe next week.  This car after all that has gone on should be a decent and fun car, while not the quality of my other adub it's still going to be a decent car and a lot of fun to drive. It's a car I am more prepared to play around with as a project / track car and leaves me some room to play around with different turbos and not be to afraid to muck around with it.

(2nd stuff done)
The wiring in this one was a mess, there was **** going from arsehole to breakfast time and lots of crap not even hooked up, so I decided to basically have the cars entire wiring stripped back and remove all the crap leading to nowhere. The old engine loom was totally removed and I bought a loom from EMS and had it re-wired it all back up, now there are no crazy wires leading nowhere and if anything ever goes wrong with the electrics it's going to be able to be diagnosed, where before if I took it somewhere they would have just told me to leave. The amount of crap that came out of this car was amazing, but at least now it's really neat upfront and in the engine bay.

The wiring was a massive job, not one I would like to have done ever again, but at least now it's done and that part of the car is good to go. We came across another problem with the car (sigh) when first testing after all the wiring was done, seems that the EMS ECU at some point in the cars life had been either hooked up incorrectly or just blew two of the AUX ports, one of them was used for the fuel pump and the only way to get the car working was to manually ground the FP relay, being this is a bloody fire hazard we sent the ECU off to EMS and they repaired it for $85 which I thought was pretty good.

Also decided to drop in a LSD diff and give the box some loving, not exactly sure which LSD has gone in but it was from a GZE setup from a Rolla, the shafts were a bit of a prick and I think they used one from the rolla setup and had to source another to make it all fit, but the diff sounded like it was in good nic and is better than an open one. Put a couple of new syncros in for 2nd and 3rd which were a little worn as well. The clutch I ended up going with was the Exedy Sports Organic Kit, should be nice to drive in the city and sounds like it will last a decent amount of time. I have an organic clutch in the Grey one and like the way it feels.

The two jobs above are the ones that ate most of the cash and I guess the gearbox wasn't really required for road worthy, but since the engine and box were out to fix all the oil leaks I thought I might as well tackle it. It's arguable that the wiring didn't needed to be done for road worthy, but if the road worthy bloke took a decent enough look at any of it there is a good chance they would have said sorry that's screwed.

There was lots of other little things done to make it mechanically sound and for it to be road worthy, all the engine mounts were done oil leaks fixed, bent **** straightened and on and on.

(3rd stuff done)
Well the place that re-did the wiring for me the first time around did a ****ty job on parts of it, luckily I meet Dennis and he has been helping me get the car sorted out. So far he's helped me install the Koni's, Eibach springs and bush kit, we got another EMS loom and Dennis has re-done the wiring, luckly this was a much quicker job as the hard part was done the first time around removing all the useless crap so this time it was just a case of hooking up the new loom. The last job made some basic mistakes like not having the CAS sheilded etc, also there was some really really bodgey connections done. The wastegate was sticking open as well which Dennis has fixed up.

(Stuff still to do)
Get a W2A intercooler
Paint & Install SC engine bay cover
Blow Off Valve
Alarm System

This car came to me in a pretty bad way, but after all the above has been done it should now be a pretty decent car. I am going to be making this my muck around car, because it's got the aftermarket ECU and everything else in place it leaves me with the option of playing around with other turbos, also the EMS ECU is pretty good when it comes to someone like me being able to play around, just need to get another LC1 as the first place that did the wring *lost* or pinched the bloody thing.
