I'm looking to enter the nationals in Tassie. How do I enter? I live in Hobart and would be happy to help out in any way. I work at the Casino so I may be able to help out with accommodation if people are interested. Cheers, Lindsay.

I can not make all the drives around the countryside but I will be there for the day at Baskerville as I'm there for a friends birthday. If you need some help on the day, I'm quite happy to help out. Cheers Steve

Many thanks Steve (B24) I'll accept any assistance offered. This event, the MR2 Nationals 2013 in Hobart, Tasmania, promises to be a highlight on the MR2 Calendar and not to be missed. However it is MR2 Entries we need. Entries close 31st July (that's tomorrow) and if we don't get more paid entries than we have at present, Baskerville will be cancelled!!!!! :-( Due to high cost of actually getting to Tasmania on the "Spirit of Tasmania" it appears to be out of most people's budget. I'd love to know how much tourism Tasmania misses out on because of the Ferry fare structure. Kevin

I'm paid up and coming along - can't wait for it! Make sure you email nationals@mr2club.com.au if you want those forms machg, and anyone else who is going to come. Otherwise, as Kevin mentioned earlier; if the organisers don't know that you plan on coming via a registration then cancellations might happen because they can only go off the numbers that have registered. Get into it folks; it's going to be the first time my mr2 has been across the water :)

Unfortunately we only had 9 paying participants for Baskerville to be run as an MR2 only event. This meant a huge financial loss which I and the VIC Branch could not wear, and so Baskerville had to be cancelled. Those that have paid for Baskerville will receive their $100 back. All is not lost however, and we had a big win came our way when Baskerville agreed to open on the day for free practice. The free practice day will cost $130 per driver, paid to Baskerville on the day. With a bit of luck, as it is a Monday, there won't be anyone else there to bother us so it should be just as good. machg I will accept late entries, but you will need to book everything yourself. If you wish to enter the Nationals, you need to send an email to nationals@mr2club.com.au if you want to just compete at Baskerville just turn up on the day and pay your $130 to Baskerville direct. It would be great if you joined us for other Nationals organised events, complete an entry form and pay the $50 entry fee to the Nationals that everyone else has paid.

This is great news. I have had a few words with the weather man and been assured of Queensland type conditions throughout Tassie!! A lot of belt tightening has been taking place at our joint and I imagine in other parts of Qld too. Congratulations Kevin. Your efforts in bringing all this together is a wonderful achievement. Thank You. Your work is very much appreciated!! Can hardly wait. Roll on September. Cheers all.

CONFIRMED ENTRIES = 21 and counting ........ A fantastic result considering the cost of participating in this event. We will still accept entries ...... however you will have to do the "Spirit of Tasmania" (interstate people) and accommodation bookings yourself. For an entry form send an email to nationals@mr2club.com.au Cheers, Kevin

Hi all Looking forward to this one! Great work Kevin & the organising committee in pulling everything together. For any mainlanders (or locals for that matter) who can't stay for the whole return tour and may be travelling north or catching the ferry on Tuesday night (1st Oct, 7:30pm), I'd be interested in hooking up for a mini convoy. My thinking is to do part of the return journey from Hobart to Devonport with the tour on Tuesday via Bicheno (or perhaps Swansea), depending upon departure time from Hobart. The route via Sorrell, Bicheno, St Marys (via Elephant Pass), Longford is 430km (5.5hrs). Ultimately I'll leave the final arrangements till the Monday evening after Baskerville but any of you interested in joining me feel free to let me know.
