Angle of my dangle Hmm strange just got under my car and it's seems to have no rear swaybar at all. Don't recall front having one either. Either I'm trippin' out or maybe the early Rev 1 models missed out...

Hi Shaz, the sway bar mounts get removed and you let the sway bar "droop" whilst still being attached to the actual suspension. Very very easy installation.

Shaz, in case you didn't already know you will also need slightly longer ARB bracket mounting bolts than stock to account for the thickness of the plate.

Thanks. No, I didn't know that, but now that you mention it, it makes sense. Hopefully the guys doing it for me will have the right bolts in the workshop.

Hey Trav, I was reminded about this when I was looking under my car while it was on this hoist at MRC today. Luckily my front swaybar mounts don't appear to have significant cracking yet, so I should order the reo plates to prevent it in the future. If you have them in stock (?) I might order them now.

So this is something I wish I knew about earlier. Tonight on my way to the Newcastle meet my drivers side sway bar mount ripped from the chassis :/ DeltaV don't appear to have anymore in stock. Fortunately I have a great mechanic mate who will weld it back together and make some reinforcing plates up for me this week.

First time ever I think I knew something about an MR2 that someone else (who has one) didn't know.

Sway bar reenforcement plates are available through the major Toyota mr2 suppliers in the USA. Just add freight :( expensive freight (for the size of the item) approx $55 USD for the plates and $60 for freight. No point for a home made reenforcement plate if it's just bent metal that bends under pressure.

Yea I may get some legitimate ones but it's pink slip week and needs something done rather quickly. Reinforcing plates will be identical to the "proper" ones. Mechanic just cuts the steel to size and makes sure its appropriate thickness. It'll last till I decide on an order from Two's R Us or something.
