Love needed

Has anyone had their car resprayed?

My mr2 has seen better days and will need a front to back respray, anyone know what it might cost in the end? Ballpark figure.

How long is a piece of string...

Depends on how much effort, run down to a resprayer and get quote..  Guys here have a few recommendations.

I had spend $2.5K to respray mine front to back. Wasn't even bare metal some years ago with the same colour

depends on what your getting done and where you go mate.
mine also costign similar to darius, same colour respray, fix dents etc.
but adding a bodykit, rolling guards, taking windows, windscreen out, spraying door jambs etc will cost more..

I have been quoted between $3500 to $4000 for minor body repairs and a promised 'smick' job from three workshops.

If you give them cash then you can normally get it cheap I've found. Because most will be doing insurance jobs, so they love private cash jobs.

and you can save money if u do the prep work yourself too. basically the less work they have to do the better, esp if it's a cash in hand job!

/\ the only problem with that is, its not easy to do for the average joe
plus if you do a **** job and the painter stuffs up they will blame it on you not prepping it properly. so you need to nkow what your doing or need to be able to argue well hahaha

Basic respray really, ill be rubbing some bits back and fixing some of the little dints ive got here n there. Then ill be getting it reprayed the same basic colour (red). As i said, mates rates but its a diy garage so pretty much for the price of the paint and small fee to hire the spray booth anyone could come out n paint their car with a professional assisting where needed. The whole workshop is the same way, i reckon its a brilliant idea.

Sounds interesting, im at springfield lakes.

My car was previously owned by a "racer". It had "Midnight Racing" on both doors and the passenger headlight. Well, he decided to remove the badges, which ruined the paint in those sections. Also a ding or two on the bonnet. I dont know whether it is cheaper to repaint the car, or replace the doors and headlight, maybe bonnet :)

Id upload pics, but the upload kept failing.
