for comparison here's my dyno when i had it fitted. stock ecu etc. greddy cooler running 14psi i think. had an old blitz sytsem too but the exhaust was shot and restrictive.

i switched to gen2 NA cams, they have longer duration, slightly more lift but more imp better timing, allows engine to breathe much better up top. no noticeable draw backs in low rpm. also a single exit 3in system. loud and made a big difference. didnt get to dyno tho.:(

Does your ebay cooler have a fan on it? If it doesn't thats the first thing I would fit. Secondly get rid if the silencer when you put it on the dyno.i will say again heat soak make your intake temps skyrocket and drop your power by a fair bit. Get a fan on the cooler if you dont have one it's s must on the dyno I found out the hard way.and dint run the fan off the engine lid temp sensor either set it up to run constantly.

Also, if your allowed near your car when its on the dyno, get a pressure weed sprayer from bunnings. Fill with distilled water, pressure it right up, then while its on the dyno have it spraying as fine a mist as it can in front of the vent(with your ic fan running constant)

Haha I was going to do exactly that but by the time I got around to it the car was slready tuned.it's a good idea thoughi was just going to use normal water.

The intercooler has the stock fan running constantly :) - I do think a bit of water and a fan aiming at the intercooler vent (they couldn't fit one in) would have helped! The silencer is a spiral buffle in a straight through part of the exhaust they welded in.

I kind of like the idea of swapping out the cams to be honest - What would be the most aggressive cams the stock gen2 ecu could handle? Realistically I won't be going back on the dyno unless at some point down the track I install engine management as I know the stock genII is only could for about 230hp running high boost so there's probably no point boosting higher than 12.5psi aye?

Would cams be worth the money if I was to pay to have them installed or only if I was doing it myself?

Decent figure. Is this with the CT26? That would be your primary restriction. I swapped that nugget with the CT20b and it made 169.6rwkw (230hp) with stock sidemount/fan and apexi pod. Can't remember if I had the straight 3" exhaust on then or not. That was stock ecu, stock fuel system. I'd recommend a ct20b swap over cams. Spool is similar, mid range is strong and it'll pull up to about 6-7k alot harder than a CT26 will.

Yeah she's a highflowed Ct-26 JD mate it'll hold boost past redline no probs - I'm sure it'd be good to 20psi. I reakon if I put in another 2 psi I could get close to the 230hp mark but then the fueling would edging on becoming an issue. The engine only has ~80k on it and should last me another 100k hopefully without issue :) (crosses fingers).

I'm actually pretty content with the whole set up to be honest - I just want to install these carbon targa tops for a bit of fun I have sitting around waiting for the targa mechanisms!

if your happy with the power and how it drives then throw the dyno sheet in the bin, as at the end of the day it's just figures on a piece of paper (provided it's not showing dangers lean out conditions etc)

but yeh it'll happily provide more boost if you want it.

cams: i fitted NA cams cause i had some around and could do it myself. i prob wouldnt pay someone to fit na cams, but if i had some 264's around then i would.

but as said if your happy then dont worry about it

Thanks for the advice Just_ace mate; I am pretty content with the power  for only 12 pounds of boost - hopefully should remain reliable for me.

Anyway here are some photos. I have been considering buying a set of rims from D88 latest thread however I think my dodgy refinished ones suit it well enough to not be able to justify the spend...  We'll see  how long this lasts. Also one day I'll use something other than a phone camera to take a photo!

Car looks very nice!

Just a thought, but have you checked your TVIS betterflies are opening up?  This chokes the top end big time.  That was the issue with my first mr2, disconnecting the vacum hose from the actuator (so the flaps are always open) made a huge difference to top end with little to no effect to the bottom end.  Quick and easy to try, worth a go I reckon.

Cheers
