The Way forward . . .

Greetings, All
I would like to begin by thanking all of you for your concerns for Louise and I.  I have just had a conversation with Walter, and it has reinforced my longheld opinion of what makes an MR2 Owner.  He passed on the feelings, and queries, from those who were at the recent Run.   Let me reassure you all that both of us are alive, and well, and still very much together.
 
I have been very remiss lately, as far as our extended "family" goes.  This year my focus has shifted, and I have not put the time and energy into the position that I took on in 2007.  President of the MR2 Owners Club of Queensland is a role that needs to be taken seriously, and actively.  It's good to hear that more and more younger people (speaking from my "mature" viewpoint) are joining the group, and even more so encouraging their friends to join too.
 
I'm also pleased to hear that after a number of years of being an informal group there is now a move to take the next step, and become an Incorporated Society.  I believe this is a good step to take.  It's not as scary as some may think, and it doesn't have to be complicated.  It will bring a different level of involvement for those who put their hands up to form the "Executive", and I see that there is the energy and enthusiasm within the core to provide a good base for this.
 
Given that we are spread over a fair area, I'd like to make use of this forum to continue the discussion about Incorporation, and the steps to get there.  I hope to be in a position to enjoy a Run sometime in the near future, and I would like to make our Christmas Run my responsibility.  We won't be able to make it to the Nationals this year, as much as we would love to, so if not before I look forward to seeing you all on, say Saturday 10th December.

I think there was a thread before about should be be formilised?? I will say again i thinks its a good idea, but with the lack of activity this year, will it be hard to maintain, i cant realy talk about activity, ive had to work and car not been on the road, but i also would like to be more ivolved with the club too....

So im all for the step foward!!

I think everyone will get into it and realy push it foward... Especialy with mr2 enthusiasim growing more and more.... Im seeing alot more on the road in my area alone and with younger peoplw, e.g p platera... Its great...

It nice to see you back on the scene tho, somtime we all wounder were u and louise are...

Is that christmas date going to be locked in?? If so i can attend, becuase i wont work, thanks heaps

Saturday 10/12 is good for me at the moment.

Saturday 10th December is going to be the day, for sure.  I'm looking forward to a HUGE catchup with as many as can make it - share the gossip, see who's done what to their car etc., etc.,
Over the next few weeks I'll ring around those I have numbers for, just in case they can't get on the forum.

Saturday 10 December is good for Kathy and I. Now that Lake Moogerah is full perhaps we might consider that as the destination rather than Somerset as has happened since time immemorial??
 
Of course as Dennis is organising the run the destination its up to him but a change is as good as a holiday.
