I picked up a copy of the magazine yesterday, Well done the car looks mint. Must be very satisfying to see it grace the pages of ff&r. I'm a little perplexed as to why you left the suspension as it left the factory but i'm sure you replaced anything tired with new components.

Keith, can you post a copy of your dyno plot?

Would be good to see the power characteristics, still not sure on what setup I would choose when the time comes.

Yes i would be most interested in the dyno plot also especially the Boost PSI versus rpm

well don't forget mandaly, his engine is 25% smaller in displacement than yours, the efficiency of a 4age is nowhere near that of a beams, the port angles are nowhere near optimum for flow, with tvis removed, a bigport head is really ineffective at low airspeed. he also chose to run a factory exhaust manifold, so I don't find it that hard to believe the boost produced. I actually think it was you that posted a revzone power graph of a civic with the same rotrex charger making 20psi, so how is that hard to believe?

The dyno i posted i believe was the Bigger unit the C38-91.

For what its worth as you have said a restrictive system will produce more PSI but not necessarily power. The figures quoted seem to me somewhat high. Im curious to see the dyno and see where / how it got there and do a few calculations because as i said it would be a world record

The dyno his youtube clip shows the car been run on is a mainline dyno - same as you have your car dyno'd on at MPC.
So provided all the right details were put it, it should be fine.
I could write an entire topic on the differences between most dynos and how to fudge the numbers on each of them, but thats not the point.
look, the only part of his system vs power i struggle with is the exhaust manifold, but the basics are there so it's more than possible.

Your a very clever guy Angelo, and you have experience than anyone else here in regards to rotrex superchargers, so i'm not going to debate your doubts any further, but i'm sure you can have better things to contribute to this forum than hanging **** on anothers hard work and money, especially on a car that has been built for the mostpart in a very similar way to yours - a whole car improvement, with a high regard for oem parts, both custom rotrex supercharged motors, both with all areas of the car overhauled/improved or refreshed.

Just my two cents, by no means am i having a go at you, i'm just voicing how it's coming across.

prob cause I've spent the best side of $25K on the engine. 22 PSI @ 6500 rpm, held till redline of 8000 rpm. Boost controlled through a complex setup with a second BOV between the SC and the intercooler controlled from the computer. Boost/power only make a violent appearence after about 5000 rpm. If anyone is contemplating this type of setup - consider the costs involved... it's far more complex than a turbo. Power is correct, the heads are running highly customised cams from Kelford, totally custom intake (no tvis), huge injectors, 70mm TB. Speak to the guys at Bullet Supercars if you like - they can give you the run down on how this is setup and tuned, also they can give you advise on the Rotrex..

The only thing the car does is slightly overheat  - the temp gets to about 210 - 215 F .. I would prefer to see 190 - 200. (thats needle between midway and red on the std dash). thats when it's being driven 'sprightly' ..

I'm not going to try to get anything more out of it - I actually dont' think I could now anyway as this is pretty much full limit for the agze.. I would post the dyno graph but I have no idea where it is (I've just moved house and I think it's in storage) .. If you want to know about the boost I can tell you its a straight line to 6K (22psi) then flat(ish) as we control it. I think the SC may be being over driven slightly at redline but thats ok..  Power is a bit like an old Sierra RS500 - nothing, nothing, nothing, then fkn lots .... Did I mention how much fun it is in the wet - accelerate in any gear and hold on!. :)

I'm thinking I may sell it - already had a pretty good offer ....

Cheers
Keith

Missed the cams.

I see the plenum and wondering the effect on flow thats why i was looking for a dyno chart

The barrel that you have , what size is it and the inlet/outlet ?

Have to review my IC most likely,

Last dyno 275 RWKW's at 17.2 psi but i have a massive restriction at the IC of around 6 psi which we are trying to work out

I have a 5x10 pwr air to water ic, it's too small needs to really be 8x10 3" in/out and piping to the tb. Then reduces to 70mm , I have no psi lost between the sc and the tb! The pwr barrels are great as long as you can cool the water

Cheers

Cool, thanks . Yeh my PWR performed better in so far as no pressure drop but it didnt cool as efficient. My IAT's are really low , yesterday with 39 degree weather only had 45 IAT's all day.

With your 5 x 10 what are you getting  ?

thanks just trying to get info from fellow Rotrex guys
