Someone will have to confirm, but I'm under the impression they are different.
 
Quick Google search turned this up:

Mentions right at the end that the rears are the same across all gens but fronts are different.

I have rear pads here for both gens. They are quite different.
 
???? I have 16v rear calipers and 22v rear calipers sitting here side by side, and the pads are interchangeable for each. 
 
The pads for the fronts however are different for early and later brakes.
