This car does not drive or handle like your regular MR2, it is simply in another world compared to a road going MR2. As for the brakes these have been noted by current race drivers as being one of the best braking packages they have come across. The report was 'this will win races under brakes', 'unbelievable braking power' , 'very sweet to drive'.
Most parts are virtually brand new with some acually being brand new untested. The replacement cost for this car including parts and labour will exceed $80000. This is an excellent turn key competitive car for anyone able to purchase such a car.

Price: 25,000 or near offer
Serious enquiries please PM.

Thanks

Steve

Another MR2 is still on my mind but I have always enjoyed the E36 V8 which ran in the Bathurst 24hr race and compete in ALMS for many years so have always had a desire to build one. Just another box to tick I guess.
I do love the SW20,  fantastic car, excellent to drive, tight ,quick, beautiful to look at, unique. It started with a perfect chassis which I developed into something more so there is nothing wrong with the car. Its a new race car ready to go.
I dont expect it to move very quickly so will enjoy driving the car some more as well as developing it some more, enjoy some track days and such.
Serious buyers will be able to  meet on track for inspection and test drive with conditions but please no joy riders.

Firstly my apologies if this message finds you way too late, but I have only just joined.
I was wondering if you still have the SW20 For Sale as I am looking for a SW20 Race Car?

Yes, still have the car but it has a new engine, turbo, suspension, clutch, gearbox and more so price needs to be adjusted.
It will not be up for sale until Feb next year. PM to discuss

Not in a hurry, want something now? Bit confused there.
After what I have spent and the time, it will be an additional 10k if I let it go without running the car in. It will do 1.06 at Wakefield, Low 40's at EC and low 30's at Winton. It quick, has spare wheels and data logger,GPS timing. Check the build thread for the story of the car.

    Confused - sorry mate!
I would like a car now, but will wait for the right car...
Is there a reason you didn't end up selling it before, I have read the build thread and understand you have replaced the engine, turbo etc - can you provide details of the changes and performance now apart from just lap times?
    Thanks

Thanks for clearing up my query.
I cant provide changes as the car has not been run in since the build Infact, its still sitting on blocks filled with running in oil waiting for the turbo manifold to be built to suit the new turbo set up.
The times stated are based on the upgrades and prep work performed by reg Nolan.
The coilovers are two way monoshock as opposed to one way twin tube.
Brake bias has been adjusted for the correc balance. Never had that before.
Suspension will be set up perfectly by Greg Nolan, tested by Ric Shaw.
Fuel system was overhauled with fuel tank foam, pump, braided lines.
Gearbox will be more responsive due to closer ratios. Quicker shifts with new twin plate and delta kit.
Engine is perfectly balanced, well matched turbo with 80kw more than before.
There is also a weight reduction which will have the car at 1000kg.
So I havent run the new spec, but it will be a clear improvement on what I have experienced up until now.
It has been easy to drive in most respects but it was always low on power, shifting has always been poor and brake balance was out. This has now been sorted so its pretty much the complete package.
Once its up and running, you can come along to EC or Wakefield to see for yourself.

    Hi Steve
It's been a while since we last spoke, busy 6 months. How did you go with the MR2, is it all up and running now and have you got it where you want it to be?
Your car and what you have done to it mate is still my inspiration, I think it looks great and sounds like it goes hard. I ended up getting my hands on what I think is a pretty good one, it was predominantly a tarmac rally car and very well looked after, I am slowly getting it right for the track and have had 1 run at Wakefield and it goes alright, mind you I am a novice but I am learning, great car to drive. If you are out at either Wakefield or EC any time soon let me know I would love to see the car on the track and say gday.
    Cheers
