good luck! I own an mr2 and a vienta v6, and the thought of doing this has been pretty tempting. but the cost, and having no car at all for a while, plus then not having a working vienta (no long road trips with people and luggage anymore...) have stopped me.
in-progress pics and write-ups will definitely be needed! :D

Good luck with the swap, but it looks like you've planned it out. Remember to post up some pics.

Its going into a 91 turbo. (Car needed new engine) Im hoping to get better fuel economy without losing too much power. I will be taking heaps of photos just waiting on the last few parts Anybody suggest a good exhaust shop in Canberra?

Hey well turns out ive made a rookie mistake. trying to use a 2001 ecu and harness with a 95 engine (different ignition system) So check list has gotten longer Needed 1mz yr97-2002 intake manifold, sensors, coils and EGR system. quoted $200 plus PP Still need to do the timing-belt and waterpump Radiator hoses Fuel lines Still looking for an exhrst shop Supercharger :) But plus side ive got the engine and gearbox together and organised to have a new mount for the 3sgte carrier bearing made.

Well fell short again but did mange to drop the engine out. Tip; if using a engine crane to lift the car remove the rear bumper and use the tow hooks. Sending the cross member and a few other pieces to get powder coated.( Recommend Tai Powder Coating in Queanbeyan) Still gotta do the timing belt and re-attach the engine harness before i can start putting it back in but atleast i got my motivation back.

Good to hear things are progressing at least!! My project is on the back burner for a little while. Work has been ridiculous for a few months!! Should look at either doing a run or at least meet up for a chat some time.

A cruise sounds good even if i have to drive my poor neglected green 2 DO NOT ORDER THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rear headers foul against crossmember!!! http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/OBX-Sus304-Header-93-96-ES300-3-0L-V6-1MZ-FE-FED-Spec-/390344844788?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5ae25da5f4#ht_2495wt_1185[font="'arial black', 'avant garde'; font-size: small"] Using the older block with the newer harness has been a little tricky such as there is no EGR and a few of the sensors are mounted in different locations. Not sure if running without EGR will affect the newer ecu i'll keep you posted. I managed to find time to change the timing belt and seals on Saturday night so really just waiting on these headers and a few gaskets before i can mount the engine. (the 4v6 engine mount looks great on the engine.) Gonna put some photos up on the mr2 canberra facebook page sometime this weekend.
