Afraid I beat you to that.

When James and I have had setbacks with our cars Ive been know to say things like "I really enjoy the planning and the building side of the car, I dont know if actually driving it will be the fun part" well scrub that! Man James's car pulls! can't wait to get mine down on Peters dyno on my current setup but last night has already put lots of ideas in my head about upgrades (read: I want a gt35 now too!)

Great work James. It's obvious to read your thread and see your car in person just how much blood, sweat and tears you've put into this car.

Hope it treats you well and gives you a lot of fun in return!

And a huge thanks to Hayley, for hooking me up with a wicked tuner! I don't think tuning is hard, I think I could probably tune my own car to some extent, however, a dyno is pretty much required. The hard bits comes when trying to make good figures out of the car, where things can go catastrophic. This is where Peter is leaps and bounds ahead of me. He can read the car VERY well. He can tell what it wants and how its behaving. He could tell straight away that it was going to make good power before he even started tuning it from just one run with a poo poohouse map in it.

Heck, I could tell him a thing or two about how to use the Autronic software and its features, but in regards to talking to the car and reading its behaviour, he is the man.

thats a good result there mate, congratulations.

To think its making an estimated 550rwhp with considerable potential for more is mindblowing. With only 2.2L and 21psi seems relatively low considering.

To have a genuine 10 second car in street trim with pump fuel would be an extremely rare thing I'm led to believe, and going by that story it sounds possible.

many of us would die for a ride in that thing of course, I'm keen enough just to see it in action.

Let us know when you're heading to the drags or a track day!!!

Yeah, well it actually only makes 468rwhp. I was just saying, if you compare it to a US car that was dynoed on a dynojet the equivalent would be around a 550whp vehicle. Hayleys car was dynoed on the same dyno and made 382whp. Her car has also run 127MPH at the drags. Visit the dyno/drag registry on MR2OC.

What have we got here... Jeff Fazio's car (Hyde).
Quarter mile stats (on drag radials): 10.943 129.80MPH 1.662 91T GT35R
Dyno figures: 635HP

This is only 1 example. If you have a search around you'll find many more. People with over 500hp running only 12xMPH. IMHO, if you've got around 550-600whp you should be pulling a ~140ish MPH pass. Anyone who has draged race would have found that even though there ET's may have changed quite a bit run to run, if they had made no other alterations, their MPH's should have been fairly constant, within a few MPH of eachother.

Well done James.
Be careful what you wish for. You know what happens if you run better than 10.99 or 140mph.

P.S. My very amatuer vid-cam skills are still available.

If you don't have a roll cage, I believe.

Yeah think you need a roll bar and 5 point harness. I also believe you need an ANDRA license? Or maybe that was 9.99. I've got a 4 point harness that can very easily become a 5 point but no roll bar yet.
