Huey has swapped out the thermo and the bubbling seems to have stopped which is a defent plus ... He is going to check if it is still losing water this morning. So fingers crossed it holds up. That way instead of spending my money on fixing it I can spending on him putting my greddy cooler in and my apexi boost controller in.
On the boost controller does anyone know when the fuel cut comes into play? and what would be safe boost to run on a stock turbo?

Got it all fixed now. Turned out the seal on the oil filter was shot ... so it now has a new filter.
Also got it dyno'd and made 155rwkw. Thats with the boost controller turned off.
I was running 14 psi with the boost controller off and 16/17 with it on ... so we turned it off to be safe.
Now can someone correct me if im wrong but isn't 14psi pretty high for standard?

if i'm not wrong/remember correctly..14psi is the safest limit to run on a Gen 2.

greddy_es - Yeah thats what I had heard as well. But why would mine be boosting at 14psi at standard ... Might have to do some investigation see if anything was tinkered with before I got my hands on it
purple5ive - Well mines been on 14 since I bought it apparently with no turbo issues yet *touch wood* As for spewing coolant I went through fixing alot of different things, replacing hoses, themo etc etc ... it doesn't leak any more but it does still bubble when its hot.

A little update:
About 3 weeks ago I drove out to the studio to find a stream of coolant spraying out of one of my hoses.
Removed that hose and spent the next week going around town trying to find someone who could get it for me. After someone ordering an NA one (which didnt fit) I decided to bite the bullet and head to Toyota. $75 later and about 30 mins of messing about the hose was replaced.
Drove it for a week then found that another hose has split. So I am currently in the middle of trying to get this one off. Problem is its in a lot more crampt spot and has the poo poo claw clamps on it.
Also my exhaust is pretty much stuffed. Has about 3 holes in it now and my idea of putting off getting an exhaust (for money reasons) is slowly becoming a distant dream.
Considering a poo pooty ebay exhaust but dont really want anything to loud. Dont want any more attention then ive already got.
Anyway, thats my most current story.
Cheers,
Deevon

Wow what a horror story with your cooling system, sounds like all of your rubber hoses hate you! Nice car, hope you can tidy it all up to your hearts content without too much stress or dollars. Have you got big plans for your two?
*Edit - As of today sounds like my horror story, workshop called this afternoon and said the heater pipes above the fuel tank are beyond repair. It seems they have fallen victim to the common cause of failure, hard mounted no vibration or flexability resistance. I'll have to order new ones from toyota.
