Ways to battle the impractical 2 seater?

I've had a few ideas running through my head lately.

How does everyone battle through the only impractical component of a mr2? Space... or Lack of :(

I had to borrow a car just to take 2 tyres/wheels fitted at a tyre place.

I would like this to be the car that I keep for quite some time, so I tend to get worried that the car would have to be passed off when I get to the stage of having my own Family.

You can fit four 16" rims with tyres in an AW11 one in the front and 3 on the passenger seat.
You can fit anything in a Targa :-)

I think a rally style tyre/luggage rack over the engine would be very cool (actually it'd be bl--dy hot but you know what I mean)

    you need another car.
subaru forester would have to be the best pick for a 2nd car.
you can take 5 people(actually you can fit 11) you can go to the snow, you can carry body panels, bumpers, exhausts, engines, wheels, tyres.
if you get a GT they also go fast..
you can get a sweet forester GT for under 10K.

You need to learn how to use the space in your MR2 as well.

I managed to have 4 stockers with tyres fitted, AND shane in my car at the same time.

2 in the boot with bungee hooks keeping the lid down, one in the spare bay and Shane holding one lol.

You will soon realise MR2s are not really practical cars just really good for weekend fun (dating machine lol) or getting to and from work etc...going on a long road trip, forget it! possibly for one person but no room for luggage for a second person.

Many MR2 owners, myself included, have a second car for this reason.
I would never sell my MR2, no matter how inconvenient it is. I'd rather be thousands of dollars worse-off for the privilege of having a second (more convenient) car too
Having said that, as Dylan said you can fit alot into an MR2, but it's a PITA. It also depends how worried you are about scuffing the interior when carting stuff around. I would always wrap things up in a towel to prevent interior damage.

My brother and I have travelled for 2 weeks from Tas to SA and back in my AW11. It can be done and comfortably.
Get used to and enjoy the driving pleasure.

For short distances only with an NA, you can lay a towel on the engine lid and carry two wheels held on with straps. The spoiler helps hold them.

The boot in an sdub holds a surprising amount for a sports car.

if you have an MR2 with a boot, then you have nothing to complain about.
my white SW20 was able to carry enough for a weeks holiday in shoal bay including carrying rods and the tackle box.
my new car..no boot lol, lucifer can attest to how well i used the remaining space in the frunk..

I fit 5x rims with tires into the AW11, had enough room to fit another 2 on the engine cover if I needed it
