Doesn't matter what they look like, just the difference they make to the dynamics of the car.

Someone wasn't sure what they had, when the images were up it showed the differences.
I've got both crossmembers at home, I chose to run the 1991

Thats exactly right James ---the earlier cars have neutral handling and are great fun to drive if you have the experience and know what to expect from them and have the handling skills as you say.
You also say = fail in most mundane hands and thats exactly why Toyota had to alter the suspension to suit the 'average joe' because there was a problem 'in their eyes' with 'snap oversteer' so in that sense it was not a myth.

True, but the 'snap-oversteer' is usually the result of the nut behind the wheel over correcting after lift-off or braking in turns, or too much -camber on a too heavy rear bar.
The simpliest save, in it's most crude form, is to 'point & plant'.

Yeah---and this is what the 'average joe' does but the problem is that once these particular cars oversteer to this degree they are almost impossible to control compared to other cars in the same situation due to the engine weight at the back.
Not everyone has the handling skills of you and I and other forum members (tongue in cheek).[(#)][;^)]
