I decided to go with the Exedy. Flywheel im still on the fence . Ever since i had the Beams i have been with the Toda flywheel. So i really dont know what real difference there was with the stock one. Since it will have more power im actually leaning towards the OEM or a Billet one. Just a progress post You have to love these 5 axis CNC machines. Here is the bracket after 6 hours machining

This is a stock Rod Top Beams flywheel it looks different to a normal 3SGE N/A i think. Well the turbo cover plate is bigger than the N/A as i thought i remember reading Here it is the Exedy, as i said looks exactly like the TRD one This is the clutch cushioned button Exedy. Dont know if its available in the American or overseas market ? Here you can see the cushion As i said i will be using the OEM Flywheel.

Yeah the stock gen2 3sge flywheel looks quite different to the one pictured. It doesn't have the perimeter relief between the clutch plate mounting points, and weighs just over 7 kgs. What does the beams flywheel weigh?

Just checked YEP the Beams has a lighter and different flywheel. Another modification now recorded that is different. However all the Turbo flywheels are the same

shame the beams has the same clutch as the 3sge, otherwise it'd be a nice easy uprgade for FW for turbo's. might go chuck my FW on the baby scales, be slightly more accurate.

Hi. I would just like to say that Ihave enjoyed immensely your whole post on your cars build. Great photos. Like the whole show. Beautiful design and workmanship. Congratulations!!! Loved 7PSI inlet design and gave 7PSI. Spot on. How Bout That. Only pitty is all that nice cast duct work and machined bracketry is not up top for all to see. Keep it coming. And many thanks. I am sure I am not alone admiring your workmanship. Cheers Doug.

Needing a bit of help from the Turbo guys. On the Beams engine there is the Idle control valve same as the Turbo, But when A/C is on the ECU controls the valve so as to increase idle. But on the Turbos you have an A/C valve. Now this valve opens when the A/C is triggered on and allows air from the airbox to bypass the TB and into the plenum thus increasing the idle a set amount. Even normal N/A's have this but just get their air before the TB. My question is , if A/C is on and you boost wont their be a leak and force air back to the air box ? Also does that valve have an adjustment screw. Also is it just an on of valve or PWM

There is an adjustment screw, and its just an on or off valve. As for the boost leak...no idea, is there is a oneway valve inline with it somewhere? Or does it close once revs are above idle?

Cool so there is an adjustment screw , and on/off thanks ! That simplifies my thought, i dare say the ECU cuts power to it when its over a certain pressure or Throttle position , hence no leak. Also i know the clutch on the A/C disengages at certain points , temp , TP , Boost etc so as to not put a load on the system. Thanks. If you have a picture that would be great
