We tuned her again as the running in was looking good
Here we go. Points Please remember stock air box, and exhaust system.
Will however be upgrading to a 3 inch B-pipe, 100 cell metallic cat and open the Remus inlet to 3 inch

Next modification.
Gave my spare B-Pipe to my tuner who BTW do build cars, in actual fact they do all the celebrity cars at the F1. They made a jig and built me a new 3 inch B-Pipe, Also to complement it with a high flow metalic Cat.

Ill test fit first then send it of to be ceramic coated

Cat

Compared with the original
Could nudge me to 240 KW's at the wheels now not to mention better breathing up top.

So during the week i took of my B-pipe. After i removed the X-member rubber holder and the rubber triangle dampener i was able to move the B-pipe and wiggle it out :)
Next i put the new 3 inch in to test fit and make sure it all aligned.
Absolutely fantastic ! These guys did an absolute great job.All perfect alignment and clears everything with even space all around the pipe. Well worth the money
Now its off again, make some heat shields for the B-pipe and get it all ceramic coated.

246.1 KW's at the wheels  :)

So we did a bit more tuning today with the new pipe.
Everything was given the final check right down to Air Con idle up.

It was tuned to just over 7,800 and ill use 7,600 as my red line.
Feels much faster with a great exhaust note.
Double the power of the OEM engine
Well its it , now finally put my bumpers back on and enjoy my baby

335 HP at the wheels

For those that see what i actually did to my car ill just go through it as i really never posted it. Temporarily i have lost a lot of the shell pictures in the hard drive of my blown up computer :(

However this is what i did.
Totally stripped the car , everything was removed from the shell ,doors , glass , guards etc everything even the doors were stripped.
Every paintable part was brought back to metal.

I used PPG paint with the supervision of a PPG rep so as to obtain the life time warranty. However the pain was to find a suitable painter. Believe me that was hard for 3 reasons a) im anal b) no one wanted to do it and c) there was only 2 companies that would / could apply the PPG ceramic clear coat.
So the car was prepped.
First an etch primer was applied. Then the primer . Then the colour .

All the parts, 31 of them were all aligned in the spray booth at the angles they would finally be attached to the car for spraying so as to have an even flow.

The colour used was Ferrari's Grigio Alloy ( Silver Blue )

Then the next part was the hardest, the reason why no-one wanted to do the job. The PPG ceramic coat has a very short time for any De-nipping something like 6 hrs. After that it cant be done as it has a ceramic modifier.
Firstly i wanted and even job so that De-nipping wouldn't be required but if it did it had to be done straight away. Suffice to say the spray painter, who has painted numerous Ferrari's even a 250 GTO stayed at the shop for 24 hrs.

Should point out that  the clear wasn't applied under the bonnet , engine lit ,boot, front section or engine bay so as to make it look more like factory.

Any way after she was painted it was fully assemble with all the correct bolts 100% to the EPC. A lot of new parts we replaced.

We here are a few pictures of the frunk section.

I even bought a packet load of Toyota round black stickers to close every unused hole just like they do on the factory line

Bumper and lights to go on now

Bumper on for the first time since my Rotrex build, thats 2 years and all lined up .

Tip easier to attach the spoiler on the bumper when its off the car

Great that all my calculations went well , radiator and hoses for the A/W totally clears the bumper :)

With the bumper on because the Radiator is flat black you can hardly see that there is anything there and with the custom hoses just looks like a part of the car

Just to show you my Bosch water pump for the A/W system. As you can see there is plenty of room. In actual fact a bigger pump could be used if desired. No point using up space in the frunk.

Covers in the frunk put back in place

Putting back the liners was a real PITA ! But i got there :)
Since my car is a 99 model it has the speed flaps

All in place new shocks and TRD springs. Also i gave the inside of the wheel well a coat of my own formulation sound deadener. Its not bitumen. Same stuff that i coated under the car and door skins and floor pan and fire wall.

I changed my recirculating OEM BOV because it wasnt opening at idle because of the force of the SC
So today i installed the Turbosmart.
But before outting it in i connected it to the vacuum line . At idle you can clearly see its open

All plumbed in. Someone sure as hell looked after me as if it was meant to be installed, clears everything , even the water bottle looks like it was shaped for it :)

Fuse box back in  place and presto disappeared

So start her up and fantastic :) Idle  ruler flat but needs to be tuned again for idle because my tuner said it would need to as the compensation for all that mad rush of air wont be there if it worked.

Here is just a small clip. Went for a drive and i am really happy.
Lesson learnt in a SC set up use a push valve recirculating BOV

So what i have now is 251 KW's at the wheels.
Time to enjoy Summer and the great weather :) In winter ill be doing an upgrade.
Going from the C30-91 ROTREX to the big brother the C38-91.
Thats a double in size as far as air but only physically 10mm bigger, But it requires a new bracket to be made.

The S54 N/A gear box might not stay together but i am thinking S153 but i love the S54 the gear ratios suit me well.....

Well the impressions of the Rotrex.

I love the total control you have over power , it drives like a N/A with more power.
Drive it like a Corolla or plant the foot. The reaction is instant and ferocious.
Modulation of the throttle is awesome and instant.
All temps are AOK, the engine bay isnt hot at all just like a N/A bay

More than happy to share any info you might need but i wont get into a debate Turbo vs SC . Its been done to death . Its not for all people , can be dearer.

But what i will say is i want to have fun with her in everyday driving even thou its a weekend car. Having massive power ( dyno queens ) might impress ild rather have a car that is usable, reliable, predictive and not scrutinized by the Cops .
As close to OEM as possible without drawing attention
