Just in case you missed it i put the plugs for the Motec in the ashtray.
One is the head phone plug for the Motec Knock control modul where as the other plug is is the can for the lap top.
Tuning is easily done on the move.

So here is the part anodized. Just waiting for the round windows and its done.
This way when the lights are one the ashtray light will light up the panel

Most of you know that im into sound systems but in my BMW not for the MR2.
I want to hear my engine :)But i had to change it for a reason. It also had to be OEM
Well had a bit of luck.
I told a mate of mine that works at Toyota to keep eye on a CD/ NAV unit from Toyota,
A specific one that has a pull out unit.
He got back to me that he had one that a customer did not come and collect and i could have it for a steal as it was dead stock because a new one was released 5 months ago.
Well $300 Aussie :) not bad considering they were $1200 !
The reason i wanted it , is so i can put my MoTec MDD display in it.
ill fabricate a shell for the MDD to the same shape and size as the NAV and also see if i can still have the NAV opperational
The MDD has the same colour illumination as the green in the head unit:)

What ill do is hard wire and make a custom bracket and relocate the Sat Nav to the inside part of the lid of the cubby bin in the centre consol

Well searching for the OEM look i am not 100% convinced on my wheels even though i spent a bucket load on them.
They are up for sale soon.
I finally found a new set of discontinued rims 17 inch and staggered that look like the REV 5 OEM's :)
I bought them last night. Now all ill do is give them a silver finish

Nice work Angelo!

I've always been a fan of SSR integrals and I've always wanted one of those TRD wheels ever since they came out over 10 years ago. The only thing that put me off from getting one back then was it was for airbag equipped cars. It would have been nice if TRD made one with similar looks and smaller diameter for non-airbag equipped cars!

I just stubbled on the SSR's LITERALLY BY ACCIDENT after looking at 1000's of rims
Hey buddy just a heads up the Beams Taco is deleted , no units left at Toyota :(

But since im Running MoTec and different set up im going to see if the OEM my car still runs. If it does ill have a spare cluster for you as i just ordered a new speedo.

You could always have the TRD and since you dont have ABS it just wont be connected.
That being the case you could just use the corolla one as they are even cheaper

Well I'm glad you came across those wheels as it'll suit what you're aiming for with your car. Do you know what offsets the SSR wheels you bought?

Bummer about the taco being discontinued! I was actually planning on ordering one in the next couple of months . If you can give me a heads up on how you go with your original cluster that'll be great as I will buy the cluster from you. If it doesn't work I'd still be interested in the non-beams tach, along with the cluster you got with your BEAMS 1/2 cut.

Regarding the wheel I guess I can still run it, but I didn't want to add any unnecessary weight of the airbag.

While im waiting for the pads and sunny days driving im continuing with the upgrades.
The MoTec MDD display.
Well in previous threads i showed you the Toyota head unit i bought that has the Navigation Tom Tom unit.

Well installed with the MR2 brackets and because of the tilt design it stands out like dogs balls :(

So i made a couple of new brackets so as to sink it further in the dash

Much more flush and now i have to add some strips on the ends to fill the gaps

Then i have to start gutting the Head unit remove the wiring ribbon for the Tom Tom , extend it so that it can be mounted in the lid of the centre cubby bin.

Then make a new bezel for the MDD so as it can sid in the Head Unit

Nice buy with the second set of SSR integrals. I'm guess this would be the better combination:

Front = 17x8 32 offset
Rear = 17x9 38 offset

Nice work with the head unit. I especially like the brackets you made - another high quality item .

Dont know yet as im not going to roll the guards.
Should have done it before the paint job. If 235 on the 9's dont look good or rub , well
it will be
7/38 front
8/32 rear

Hey Angelo the setup I have on my GT-S is:

Front = 17 x 7.5 30 offset
Rear = 17 x 9.5 40 offset

Current tyres are:
Front = 215/45 R17 Bridgestone RE55s
Rear = 235/45 R17 Federal SS 595

My guards haven't been rolled and the rears don't rub. However I think if I ran 245 or greater I would have to get my guards rolled furthermore be mindful that I'm running TEIN FLEX coilovers.

I think you shouldn't have a problem running

17 x 9 38 offset with 235 tyres.

How do you get no rubbing ?
9.5 is over flush and a 235/45 would be higher also and you havent rolled the guards.
Sounds promissing if that be the case

slight tyre stretch and the tyre calculator does not take into account camber.
