I'm not familiar with this engine but I'd guess it would have been doing in excess of 10,000RPM to achieve this power output. This has gone well past the point where turboing would be cheaper, more reliable and far more streetable for the same power. Just my 2c!

agreed but it'd sound so much better....

if Gran turismo's anything to go by, you could do that with one of the ae86's and yeh gutless in low rpm but screamed all the way to 11000rpm.

i'd love to do that to a 3s in my mr2 but i'd still have less power and an enth of the torque and be 10times more in debt than building for a turbo.

Whoa, 11,000rpm - that would sound sweet just_ace!

Peak torque may have been 8,400 but 240hp from a n/a 1.6 would come up somewhere near that 11,000rpm redline.

Some of those pics with the motoiq watermark are from a 1.8 litre technosquare build that made 230hp at th wheels i believe.

Land Speed Record mr2 at bonneville.
It's an SW20, running a turbo 20v 4AG, de-stroked to meet class capacity limits.
45 psi boost, stock head, custom eerything else.

1.5 l, 199 mph
1.0 l, 152 mph, with compressor surge problems.
