tour of tassie ? mr2 nationals?
just reading the latest top gear and the report on tassie.was thinking it would be great to do a few days down there in the 2. been over a few of these roads in the past. but not in a car that handled. remember going down from bradys lake towards hobart would be fantastic going up. anyone else interested in doing a run down there.when the weathers warmer , or maybe the mr2 nats down there rather than grampians? its something i definately have to do.

The location for the nationals has not yet been finalised. The grampians run this year is in place of the great ocean road run. We can discuss making the nationals in Tasmania at the committee meeting tomrrow night.

After tonight's committee meeting it has been decided that the Nationals hosted by the Vic club will be run in Victoria, but welcome discussion with the Tas club members and other state committees regarding future national meets. Knowing there are several Vic members keen to head down to Tassie, it might be worth organising a run and inviting the Vic club along!

Steve, the Nationals is not held every year. Last year at Bathurst, hosted by the NSW club was the last one. I'm not sure when the next one is, but not this year. However it will be run in Victoria, hosted by the Vic club.

tour of tassie would be awesome. i have maps of the targa routes and also some articles from bike mags on favoured driving roads. would be happy to get involved in organising this too.

during the christmas/new year would probably suit most people as you would need a few days what with coming over on the boat and stuff

yeh but boat is dearer and harder to find spots that time of year. and going to be more cars on the roads. would be good to go when everyone else isn't.

good point seeetpete, although most of them can be overcome with forward planning. spirit of tasmania do offers now and again. i travelled over 2 days before last christmas on a day crossing and it cost $200 one way

i went to Tassie the times Stuka mentioned this year. The roads were great and could be enjoyed.
It was great weather as well, each day over 40:) what a heat wave!
Had an awesome time and definately will do it again.
